I was gathering up images of RPG menus and dialog windows for ideas and inspiration for my own project and I figured I'd share the wealth. Feel free to add to the collection.

I can, that's how I looked them up lol. I've actually owned every one of the games pictured at one point or another save for Radiant Historia (which I intend to own) and Dragon Force 2 (which never saw a US release as far as I am aware).

I lol'd at the Pram doghouse quote. I also recognize Fire Emblem 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance, War of the Lions, and A2, Jeanne D'Arc, Suikoden 3, Mana Khemia (?), Radiant Historia, Jet Grind(?) Radio, Disgaea, and Breath of Fire 3...

STING tends to make their interfaces completely ridonkulous. Though they are a bit awe-inspiring.

Also, you forget the Persona games... SMT tends to have cool design.

Speak of the devil:

P4 has some amazing UI.

Screenshots don't really do it justice though; as so many of the UI elements are animated.

Yggdra Union and Gungnir have some pretty over-the-top presentations as well.

Some menu color schemes for which I looted the palettes from ColorLovers so that I'd have some color inspirations that deviate from my typical choices. I did two versions of each palette (typically one light and one dark).

Mind if I throw some in that I've been looking at?

I can count no less than five (5!) different fonts on the Yggdra Union pre-battle screen. Yep, their graphic designers must be on drugs WTF

I like how they treat their menus as being just as much an art asset as their character sprites and other graphics. On another note, more color schemes:

Is there any way you can make a palette of all of those colors, or perhaps a non-jpg version so I can get it myself?

Here is a .PNG of the colors arranged in a palette (sets of 5, 3 sets to a row):

You can also download the .PAL palette file here.

Persona 3+4's GUI stuff is pure sex.

I designed the user interface for Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, which was a massive task, and gave me a whole new appreciation for the task. It was interesting choosing which battles of implementation to fight, but also making sure that no-one tried to introduce conflicting paradigms into the controls or menus.

The most complex part was probably the Firework Show Editor, which worked a bit like Adobe Premier or Garageband.
