Title: Horrible GDC Nightmare Post by: scottwashi on April 08, 2010, 12:48:27 PM I don't post much on here, but I just had a horrible nightmare I would like to share with everyone. And not one of those, "I fear this may someday be true," but an actual nightmare I woke up in sweat from.
So it begins with me and my friends grabbing seats for the IGF awards ceremony. There is only about 1/10 of the seats filled and it is mostly empty. One by one, a person come up to the podium and makes a business-like presentation about their company/software/or upcoming game, with no awards being handed out. A few of the presenters get booed offstage, vowing never to return and the audience applauding their vow. Tim Schafer is even one of the presenters but while in prison chains, he presents his new, very bland and unoriginal title. As we come closer and closer to the end of the show, people start to leave in droves, where there are only a few clumps of people left watching the "awards." Finally, one last very old and bald man come up to the podium and says that he will presenting the IGF awards. I cheer, but finally to my realization, he is presenting the awards to bland, uncreative, unoriginal, and non-indie games. He admits that he is the only person who reviewed all of the games and even stated that he didn't even play many of the games that were submitted. Everyone starts booing him. He asks why everyone is so upset. I stand up to voice my opinions. He calls me a racial slur. Then he calls on some person who just uses the opportunity to pimp out their own game. As we are leaving, we see them throwing away Gamecubes and just take them all. Weird. Title: Re: Horrible GDC Nightmare Post by: PlayMeTape on April 08, 2010, 01:20:52 PM Haha,
