Title: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 12, 2010, 06:09:24 AM Quote from: wikipedia Commentators have described the sound as "annoying" and compared it with "a stampede of noisy elephants,"[7] "a deafening swarm of locusts,"[8] "a goat on the way to slaughter"[9] and "a giant hive full of very angry bees."[10] aka. World Cup 2010 general thread. Discuss your favourite ball-kicking squadron and why the best Korea (North) will win everything. Bonus. Recommended indie kickball games. New Star Soccer (http://newstarsoccer.newstargames.com/) 3 & 2010. Both excellent games (NSS3 being 2d, NSS2010 3d) where you play as one player throughout his whole career (on and off the field). Featuring just about every league in the world and all the important parts of the game: kicking, tackling, racing horses, drinking so much beer you fall over randomly during the match. For the many people on this forum who don't subscribe to any objective reality, Mdickie's Grass Roots (http://www.mdickie.com/downloads.htm) might be a more considered and appropriate treatment of the Association Football experience. A ball is involved and there are two goals... Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Tycho Brahe on June 12, 2010, 06:33:07 AM Wow this topic title really works! The first thing I thought when I saw the title was "that sounds like those south African football thingies"
in other news England is gonna thrash the us tonight Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: kyn on June 12, 2010, 06:36:45 AM God, that sound is fucking annoying, I watched South Africa vs. Mexico yesterday and the goddamn bees didn't stop buzzing for one single second. Now Argentina is on and I'm considering watching it with the sound turned off.
Oh yeah, and my Portugal is going to kick Korea's ass, so don't get too excited. :wizard: Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: LeFishy on June 12, 2010, 06:39:20 AM in other news England is gonna thrash the us tonight Are we though? Are we really? I have no idea about anything that is going on but I decided I'll watch all of England's games because I'm stuck in the arse end of nowhere without a good internet connection and only the TV to keep me company. What makes that noise? I have not heard such a noise? What is football? Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 12, 2010, 06:44:58 AM USA will beat England.
or rather England will lose to the USA Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Tycho Brahe on June 12, 2010, 06:51:48 AM Well to be honest, it could go either way. Although America is crap compared to englands normal form, a lot of our best players are out of action or are off form.
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 12, 2010, 07:19:22 AM Well my 3 predictions today were:
2-0 win to South Korea (achieved.) Maradona will ruin everything (30 minutes for him to salvage defeat from a 1-0 lead.) 3-2 win to USA (TBA.) Don't know how it's like in other countries, but over here, Brazil is playing in the world cup, the whole country stops to watch the match.
I'm usually not much into football, but during the World Cup, I always get caught up in the hype and watch every match I can. Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: PGGB on June 13, 2010, 03:37:49 AM I really enjoy hearing everyone complain about vuvuzelas. :durr:

The first thing I thought when I saw the title was "that sounds like those south African football thingies" The first thing that I thought about was this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbyZDJN9A9g).Another, more amusing one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gazp5w6r5O4). Not amusing for the players involved of course but for all of us watching it's laugh city. Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: reetva on June 13, 2010, 04:58:23 AM I saw the thread title and I was like "wat" but then I watched a bit of a football game today.
I was like, "Oh." Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: PGGB on June 13, 2010, 04:59:57 AM Wow this topic title really works! Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 13, 2010, 06:13:49 AM After an interesting day (http://www.websitesubstitute.com/AssortedCrap/USAwins.jpg) yesterday. The big game is finally here, Australia vs Germany.
Clearly Australia will win. 1-0, Trollman in the 90th minute. Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Randomasta on June 13, 2010, 10:36:19 AM It's going to be 3-1 for Germany, their first goal about 10 minutes from now
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Danrul on June 13, 2010, 02:11:32 PM I'm pretty sure I just got bent over and had 4 - 0 shoved up my Australian ass.
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Oddball on June 13, 2010, 02:18:52 PM Tim Cahill was unlucky to be sent off. The Germans are looking a pretty strong team though.
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Nixitur on June 13, 2010, 04:51:49 PM You have no idea how loud it was outside about 4 hours ago. Dozens of cars driving around, honking like crazy, drunk and less drunk people singing loudly and wrong, everyone tooting their vuvuzelas...
I'm not sure if it was awesome or just annoying, but I think I'll tend to "awesome". If you haven't figured it out yet, yeah, I'm German. Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Xion on June 13, 2010, 05:27:37 PM interesting day (http://www.websitesubstitute.com/AssortedCrap/USAwins.jpg) USA wins...1-1...how is that winning? Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 13, 2010, 09:34:21 PM I guess you can say Australia should have parked the BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Lazer on June 13, 2010, 09:36:12 PM interesting day (http://www.websitesubstitute.com/AssortedCrap/USAwins.jpg) USA wins...1-1...how is that winning? it's a joke. basically everyone (brits especially) were boasting that england was going to toast us, 3-1, 5-0, wayne rooney would be an unstoppable force of nature, american (soccer) football is garbage etc. by playing a tie game we've effectively told the world to fuck off, even if we had a little help from american loyalist Robert Green. Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: desdinova on June 14, 2010, 12:36:36 AM So glad I didn't get up at 4am to watch the Australia match
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Türbo Bröther on June 14, 2010, 02:41:47 AM Were you expecting much?
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: Movius on June 14, 2010, 02:47:14 AM I was expecting maybe one striker. Not asking a lot really.
At least Emerton looked 100% Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: muku on June 14, 2010, 02:50:16 AM I'm usually not much into football, but during the World Cup, I always get caught up in the hype and watch every match I can. I'm much like that too, though I don't really watch as much as I can, but definitely more than usually (0). As much as I'd like to (and used to) be cynical about it, there's something exciting about the whole atmosphere surrounding that world cup business that's hard to shake off. And I have to say the Germans played quite beautifully, that win was deserved. 4-0 is painful though... Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: jstckr on June 14, 2010, 03:01:20 AM The German match was the first of this world cup I haven't seen. Sigh.
Title: Re: BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Post by: mark on June 14, 2010, 03:23:03 AM Man am I glad I'm a geek and not a football fanatic (like the rest of my family is, I will never get it...)
