Title: Share positive experience with gamers playing your games? Post by: PompiPompi on November 29, 2010, 06:20:34 AM I gave my game "Labyrinthica: The Quest Of Lima" as a birthday present to the 9 year old son of my friend.
He and his friend have been playing my game and they love it. He even asked his father(my friend) how did I come up with all those mazes. So his father will explain him they are random generated. It just feels good when a one kid loves your game, when they have tons of free flash games and others to play on the web. :) Did you enjoy somone in particular playing your game? Post by: Ant on November 29, 2010, 06:37:21 AM I once had a kid email me expressing his joy for Paltapa (http://anthony-case.me.uk/paltapa), reported a few bugs and asked me what my best times/scores were. So I replied back thanking him, gave him my times/scores, asked if he had any other suggestions and told him I uploaded a new version with the bugs fixed but I never heard back from him. I don't know if his parents read the email and thought I was grooming him or something. :shrug2:

Post by: Evan Balster on November 29, 2010, 08:51:38 AM My online drawing game Infinite Blank is horrifically clunky, slow, hard to use and crashes all the time, but I've gotten a lot of encouragement from people for going ahead with the idea. I also managed a successful Kickstarter, which was really motivating. I'm trying to get a new update out now that will fix a bunch of problems and add new stuff--I wouldn't have made it this far without that encouragement, I think.
A little under a year ago, I showed a more "fun"-type game I'd been collaborating with a friend on at the computer science department during a campus festival. It's a LAN-networked game and a bunch of people (including distinct non-gamer types!) came and played, some staying around for as long as an hour or two. A few friends happily stayed the whole time to fill empty seats; it was great. We recently got a new sound person, so we'll be working on it again soon! Post by: Endurion on November 30, 2010, 11:48:44 PM My game HitBlock (a touched up remake of Crillion) has been published on a german computer magazine cd. As a result I became a few nice emails stating how they loved the game. Also, big plus, the level editor in there lets you upload user levels. Over the years some 1000 levels have been made and uploaded by users.
Also, a load of bugs and extras were implemented as a result of user requests. |
