Title: Christmas Eve activity
Post by: Pineapple on December 22, 2010, 07:51:25 AM
I propose that every TIGSource member able will watch Die Hard (1988) on Christmas Eve as a way to celebrate John McClane magically breaking into houses and leaving firearms under the Christmas trees.

Who's with me?

Nonsense. However, you can still watch Die Hard 2 instead if you so insist.

Ehhh, I don't really like Die Hard 2. That movie pretty much sucks. I would stick with the first one.

It's not nearly as good as the first, but at least it's something.

Die Hard? I don't think I have that movie.

Whatever, on Christmas Eve, I plan to finish watching The Matrix, since my parents' tape ran out back when it was aired on HBO probably in 1999 or 2000 and head to bed, the tired lad I ususally am.

It's a better Christmas movie than everything else, though it competes with Charlie Brown's Christmas.

Die Hard is a given and is watched in the afternoon so I turn to the delights of television for the eve. This year it's either The Core or Monkey Magic but since the first movie pulls shit that wouldn't even fly in a 1990s telemovie it's going to be Monkey Magic. Last year's television was better, they had on Godzilla Final Wars even though it's not as good as previous films in the franchise. Television stations in my country have strange ideas on what makes for Christmas films.

At least I'm saved by New Year's, I can watch Quadrophenia and Cape Fear right afterwards.

For some reason I always considered Groundhog Day as the perfect Christmas movie, although I re-watched it a few months back so that won't do. I watched the Terminator movies last year though, and finished it off with Predator and Airplane. I think Die Hard might just be the right pick for this year, but I'll definitely not watch the latest one again.

Yeah. Die Hard is a classic, Die Hard 2 is alright, but Die Hard: With a Vengance is bad, and Die Hard 4.0 is just terrible.

Die Hard is on Netflix Instant. And actually the second and third are as well. Die Hard is a classic Christmas movie that warms my heart every time I watch it. Hans Gruber hands down is a great character and name.

Merry Christmas everyone.

A few months is easily enough time to warrant another watching of Groundhog Day.

I was gonna watch Scrooged today but forgot to bring the DVD with me. So, probably just gonna play more DS instead, then go and spread some christmas cheer somewhere.

I think a 'rage of nerds' would be better...

Edit: FWIW I think Die Hard is on Film 4 tomorrow (if you are in the UK...)
