Title: Rango
Post by: Bood_War on March 05, 2011, 06:28:35 PM
Have any of you guys seen this?

It was a really, really good movie. And you know, Clint Eastwood. The only thing about it was that it was supposed to be a kids' movie. It had more damn violence than many of the regular westerns I've seen.

Being a huge spaghetti western nut and hearing this is partly a hommage to the genre, I really want to see it. Probably gonna go next week.

It was very good.
Not as much of a kids movie as I expected.

Also, a MILLION references only adults would get, and a bizarre assorted cast, but excellent choices. Top shelf.

Everything I've heard about this movie sounds awesome. I can't wait to see it.

Rango = the name he uses based off a beer bottle that says "Durango" on it.

I saw an early employee screening of Rango... I enjoyed it a lot. I was surprised to find actual guns being used and some "heavier" language and jokes and such. It was a good movie. Especially because I got to see it for free at a private screening.  8)

I trust that it is a decent movie, but I don't quite like movies like this. I love westerns, but I don't enjoy these kinds of movies.. It just looks... what's the word...? Dumb.

It isn't. It's quite smart. With a lot of smart references and smart actors.

It's a shame they didn't get Ennio Morricone to do the music.  I mean, really:

Seriously, Hollywood, Hans Zimmer is not the only composer in the world.

I really liked it.  It was definitely a strange film, but I really enjoyed that... it took me off-guard, and the humor was quite unconventional.  Two favorite scenes: the first scene where the Hawk is chasing Rango, and the scene where Rango walks across the road after declaring that he is no one.

Morricone hasn't scored a Hollywood movie in years and he hasn't scored a Western in decades. I'm not sure he'd be up for it, being the grumpy old git that he is.

Watched it myself last week and while it did get boring during the middle, overall a very nice film the animation and cinematography blew me away and the surreal moments were nothing sure of brilliant.

Though there is some questionable anatomy there.
