It's actually kind of fun.

So who did he hire to slap that crap together in a few hours?

I love the name: "EDGEBobby2 By EDGE"

And: "© 1986, 2003, 2011, EDGE/THE EDGE"

See, the EDGE brand is still in use!!!

And, of course, one of the two links on the page is dead...

It's a very edgy kinda name. Obviously, to demonstrate that the game, Time Langdell, and EDGE/THE EDGE are on the cutting edge of edgy entertainment.

So what about "Racers" and "Mirrors a game by Edge?" I was looking forward to those games.

I just hope the developers of this game got paid in a timely fashion. The last thing we need is more victims of Tim 'EDGE/THE EDGE' Langdell. I don't think the games industry will every rid themselves of this leech.

I would be more likely to support this if it didn't use the "edge" "brand" in its name.

Trying to rebuild at this point is ludicrous.

Crowe, I would like to hear a little more involved review of the game. It'd be awesome if you contacted the developers (the ones listed in the credit roll) for an interview to talk about working with Langdell.

You wouldn't be likely to know about it if it didn't.  ;)

I downloaded the free demo version out of curiosity. In true Langdell fashion, you're treated to a whopping 3 different "Edge" logos ("EDGE", "THE EDGE" and "EDGE GAMES") at startup. The game itself is actually not that bad, it's a decent puzzler held back by a godawful presentation and somewhat imprecise controls. I'd say it's in the upper tier of cheap Appstore cashgrabs, for whatever that's worth.

Appstore Cashgrab is my buzzword of the week.  :gentleman:

Well, if you want a more proper review...

The game is, admittedly, hampered by a truly confusing control scheme: it's essentially an analog control that appears when you put your finger on the screen, and is certainly serviceable, it's just sometimes hard to get Bobby to go exactly where you want him to. However, it's actually a fun little puzzler, certainly one of the better games you can get for a dollar on the app store. The object is to find all the crystals in each level and then go on to the next (they all connect up end to end to form a zone, which is a nice touch -- as you clear levels the world fills up until you reach the end of the zone). So far I've seen several different mechanics and gimmicks (I liked one level wherein you rescue another ball and flashing vector letters pop up saying THANK YOU BOBBY like you're playing bloody Space Giraffe) and every level has time trials so you can try for the best time (for which there are game center achievements and integration). I can't speak for what levels are in the demo, since I didn't play through it enough to know, but it feels like a very retro marble madness puzzle game, like the original was. For a dollar it's honestly a pretty good buy.

I've had fun with it, myself.

The only title I've seen in recent memory that's worse than "EDGEBobby2" is that of its free counterpart: "EDGEBobby2Free." Was it really too unedgy to put spaces in the title?

I don't know. You'd have to ask somebody who owns the game.

I just mentioned the credit roll to clarify I didn't mean Langdell.

have to agree with crowe somewhat. not the worst game in the app store by a long shot, just so much money-grubbing rich brown Langdell taint.

I would love to see Tim move into the music business and sue Lady Gaga for her blatant rip of his gold-lame-pants-starring 1989 hit Edge of Exaltation by Langdell's Lovely Lads

Do we have a Bobby here somewhere that could sue Tim?

When the whole Tim Langdell/EDGE/Mobigames thing first exploded the original developers of Bobby Bearing posted saying they believe that they are the true owner of the Bobby Bearing IP.

Papazian has talked with Bobby Bearing's actual developers, Robert and Trevor Figgins, and they claim they retain the rights to the game. Langdell, they assert, was just the publisher.

I would laugh so hard if they contacted Apple and had the game removed for violating their trademark.

I hope they find out about this, and do exactly as you have said. That would be hilarious.

Mobigame and Edge Games are not connected or associated, but Mobigame's games rock. Now we are free of the restrictions and requirements placed on us by our prior agreement with Future Publishing, we heartily recommend you check out Mobigame's games!

Wait, what? This almost looks like progress, but the part where he's blaming Future Games for his earlier trademark trolling is deceptive and quite possibly delusional. :wtf:

That would actually be awesome. How can we encourage them to do this?

WTF! The guy is seriously delusional. Is he really trying to blame 20 years of shady business practices and trademark trolling on Future Publishing?! Un-fucking-believable! The guy is never going to disappear. I have no doubt we'll still be hearing horror stories about Langdell in another 20 years time.

It seems he at least realizes that his name has been tarnished and now he's clearly trying to untarnish it with that utterly transparent move. The doctor is either really stupid himself, or he believes everybody else to be.
