After dying and recreating my character several times, I have successfully set up my hidden base (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39181343/TIGsource%20Stuff/hillhouse.png).

Also, I threw some copper in the guide house before I went to bed...  I think.

I had one of these going but nobody showed up :(

We had a pretty good turnout last night... I think we might have capped on the player limit at one point. Unfortunately, some people showed up who didn't play by the rules; they came with their high-level characters and started griefing with explosives and hidden traps, etc.

I also managed to set up a hidden base, so hopefully it will remain hidden from such ne'er-do-wells.

Can I come live with you? Please? :beg:

Sorry, I took the server down to play with my friends on our game last night, but it's back up.

I'm hoping I can buy terraria when they have one of those steam sales you hear about. Maybe I'll play with y'all.

argh, no wonder I could not connect. The game seems kinda dumb though, considering I was at the "connecting to server" screen for minutes without any feedback as to why connection was not happening.

It's not dum, it's loyal. Eagerly looking for a connection though finding one is bleak. It will not return void!

Terraria often goes on sale for $5 or sometimes even $2.50... There's absolutely no reason not to buy it.

Would it help any if you put the password in the Mancrib to prevent access by casual griefers? I'd like to assume that anyone over level 3 would be a little more cautious about creating a mess.

Folks who want to join but are not level 3 yet can always ask for the password by PM. That was if some asshole wanders in, the list of possible offenders is rather small.

Maybe Terraria just needs a server-side option that disables importing existing characters.

Yes!  That's a great idea because I just hit level 3!

Ah, I probably could have traced the name to the IP if I still had the server up, so thanks for the intel on the name...

But yeah, the Terraria server could definitely use some more advanced commands and filtering options.

I'll look into expanding it with some plugins or something before I set it back up.

Yeah, it's been real fun guys... I'm thinking about staring a new world... Maybe medium or large-sized where everybody builds their own house and we have a sort of little town :D

Not sure if we should start with new characters, too...?

Maybe, it could be done in phases, like phase 1: make houses with powerful characters (like for the bricks/furniture) phase 2: start in your house with new character?

B- but I'm still levelling up my character on my singleplayer world so I don't get gutted by these enemies :beg:
