A new copy of The Outsider, an American McGee's Alice shirt and some cigarettes, because that's how I roll.

My girlfriend and I decided to skip Christmas this year, since we haven't been together too long, sneakily got her a copy of Veronika Decides To Die and a Nyan Cat necklace, can't wait to give her them.

Clothes. Lots of 'em. And I am happy about it too! I define that as a sign of mental maturity! That, and actually enjoying giving gifts!

Highlighted soft loot: Snazzy new jacket, my old one of that style was getting frayed. The largest scarf I've ever owned. Sweaters en masse! And undies and stuff that is always useful. Come to think of it I hardly got any hard parcels at all, and I'm not unhappy in the least... Wow... I gotta go think about my life now O.o

Didn't ask for much, couldn't think of anything.

Got anyway:
- New clothes
- A gift certificate to go towards some good boots (I need good boots)
- The Meaning Of Life Extended DVD
- Gaiman X Amano: (!!!) "Sandman: The Dream Hunters"
- Arkham Asylum and Dead Rising 2 from Steem Salez
- A book safe that is blank and can be customized to look like any book
- Various bits and bobs

Steam sales made up for 6 or 7 of my gifts.
The rest: I handbound some books for my family. Went over super well. Was pleased.

I gave an iPad iGuy thing for my oldest nephew who got an iPad from Santa, a Monster High Wii game for the middle niece, an Elmo plushie for the yougest niece, a bracelet for my girlfriend, a blouse for my mother, a shirt for my father and a wallet for my brother.

♦ Assorted scented French soaps for mom (my GF bought them)

I got a copy of Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut, a muffin tin and a large soup bowl (so now I can fit a whole can in just one bowl). Big gift was money towards an HD TV, which I just picked up today. I'm pretty ecstatic, just need to find the HDMI cables to hook up my PS3 and I'll be golden.

No console games this year, I think this is the first. Just a couple Steam games. Got a cool NES controller shirt I didn't ask for but I really like. The best gifts are the ones you get that aren't on your list but you like anyway.

My super rad little bro got me a couple jigsaw puzzles, sorted out the edge pieces and threw them away, then mixed up what was left in unrelated boxes so I can't see the pictures. He knows exactly what I like.

I think next year I'm going to ask for people to just donate to charity in my name. Now that I have a pretty good job I feel lame making up long lists of things I want.

  • Serious Sam 3: BFE (well technically I got this 2 or so weeks ago but it still counts as a Christmas gift for them I think)

Cool stuff overall. I didn't ask for much this year except BFE so the 3DS was a surprise (an awesome surprise (3D hurts my eyes tho.))

Aren't you, like, 30 or something? I thought by then that most people would have grown up. Yet here you are, acting like yet another retarded 16-year-old internet troll, telling people to kill themselves for acting as immaturely as you are right now. And don't think everybody is as thick-skinned as you are. There are people out there who respond to hateful comments like the Vic Viper responds to laser beams. People who internalize your comments and whose minds use them as a rationalization of how terrible of a person they are. People who were on the brink of suicide going into Christmas, disappointed coming out of it, and now are being ruthlessly attacked for an off-hand comment that they thought would disappear into the great void of Nobody Cares. But now everybody cares. Everybody hates them. And Dad got some shotgun ammo for Christmas. One more person doesn't make it to adulthood, because another just couldn't fuckin' grow up.

Yeah, so I was going to relate to how I've noticed that you are hostile toward people who exhibit certain traits (like homophobia, transphobia, etc), but then I realized that that's insensitive of me to single you out like that. After all, we all have our hot-button issues, and the only thing that makes you different is the level of moderation power. And, were I in your shoes, I'd probably act similarly against those who run afoul of my hot-button issues (like depression, suicide, etc). I think most people would. It was incredibly wrong of me to equate your name with a vice, moreso as it is one that runs prevalently throughout humanity, and for that I sincerely apologize.

...Looks like I have some growing up to do, too...

Using saved money and gift certificates and etc I managed to scrape together one of these:

which I hope will serve me well. MFT is looking pretty gewd.

Also, as a 'christmas gift' a coworker sold me his old iPod touch he doesn't use anymore super cheaps. If anyone can recommend apps, please do.

A 3DS and Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light from the wife. I'll be picking up Mario 3d and OoT soon.

I was tempted to ask for a 3DS and Super Mario 3D Land, but I'd rather wait until they remodel the 3DS as they will inevitably do and the games are a bit cheaper (Mario Land was selling for over $50 - $60 on Amazon during the holidays!!)

I'm also not sure how to feel about the 3D... I know you can turn it down/off, but that kind of defeats the purpose. I have a feeling it's going to bug my eyes/sensory input in general D: But this isn't a 3DS thread, so I'll say no more.

I got fuck-all. I couldn't even get a hangover.

But starsrift doesn't need love, or material expressions thereof. starsrift is a machine for processing liquor and caffeine into code.

Back to work! :coffee:

Stuff from Parents:

- Khokhloma bowl + saucer.
- Cheburashka doll (regular one; not the Olympic-era white and red one which might be more collectible in some nominal sense but I think it looks stupid so w/e).
- Plush catbus (I have no idea. Not that I don't appreciate this -- I do -- but that was out of nowhere).
- A cat matryoshka.
- Some Russian book about spies.
- Another Russian children's book about a golden-crowned rooster which is mostly notable because the cover art has a picture of a decidedly feminine fox sucking on its finger while making bedroom eyes at the titular rooster. I think the book is about how the fox is trying to eat the rooster but the art just makes it look like it's trying to "eat" the rooster.

Stuff I bought myself:

- Like half of everything on gog.
- Company of Heroes.
- Plants.
- PROBABLY MORE STUFF FROM GOG AND GAMERSGATE, GOSH.
