I was pretty interested in testing this, but I'm being told that either the file was deleted, or I don't have access to it.

I unzipped it and everything, but when I tried to run it, I got this Game Maker error like 20 times.

___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object obj_controller:

Error defining an external function.

Code:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object obj_controller:

Error defining an external function.

And then these errors over and over seemingly ad infinitum:

Code:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object obj_player:

Trying to draw non-existing sprite.

___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object obj_playerAI:

Trying to draw non-existing sprite.

Are there some resources that should be packed in?

Thanks for getting it working!

Okay, this is really, really cool.  Basically, it feels damn good to control.  I'm not the greatest expert in fight games but this feels simple and accessible, but also really fast, so there's a real possibility that people competing (I assume a two-player mode is coming) could be really interesting and satisfying.

The main thing, I think, that felt a bit off to the combat was the guarding.  It seemed to me that being attacked while guarding should leave your backside vulnerable (though perhaps it shouldn't be so easy for the other character to get behind you--or if you want to keep that passability (it has its merit) then maybe the player should stay totally invulernable).  Also, if you're resisting attacks, maybe there ought to be some knockback, and eventually a guard break.

The way you've done your camera is really cool.  I really appreciated how you added a little handholdy floatiness without making it ever appear obnoxious.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you have yet to implement and I'll be keeping my eye out for later versions.  I'm sorry if my feedback's a little anemic.  If you have any specific questions, please ask.

Thanks a lot for the review.

Yes there will be a 2 player mode (maybe online) I had also thought about a cooperative mode, but vs mode is a yes.

My initial idea was to make the guard as you say, leaving your back vulnerable, so you had to turn around, in a 3 frames movement, but I'm having some issues with the guard, I don't know why it's not working right now but I'll find a way aroud it.

And thanks for the comment on the camera, I spent a couple of hours thinking on how to achieve this good effect of the camera, watching a lot of videos (most FPS) and thinking of the best way to make this.

I'll be posting new updates in this topic so you can keep track of the game.

Regards, eltantillo.

I played it..gameplay seemed a little fast, but that may be fine for some people. The GUI looked cool also

i like the special effects ( fire, etc. ) I also like the creative and innovative card deck feature you put in to upgrade your skills

very nice work, keep it up! Feel free to check out my work as well :)

Great game dude! the gameplay is really engaging, i liked the whole number of punches and kicks. A lot of undefined sprites fell as i played, and of course, sound would be an improvement!
Cheers! ;D
