Can't wait for Occulus Rift, the virtual reality headset that John "Doom" Carmack demoed. My first reaction to Project Shield is "huh"? Maybe it makes sense when I play something on it. Reminds me of Razer's weird Switchblade.

DDR Classroom Edition did. For a moment. Then I saw the stepchart generator. Kind of a trainwreck.

I did the only thing a real aspiring software designer/developer could do, and contacted them regarding another approach to try. I hope they consider it, and that it works better than their current approach does.

I was impressed by samsungs' fold-able/roll-able touchscreens, those are spiffy.
Also oculus rift was looking cool, but i'll remain skeptical until I actually get to try one for myself

I recall the Ubuntu phone was demoed at CES this year. My first fancy phone will run that.

I didn't follow that closely but the Oculus Rift reaction video was amazing. Made me preorder a devkit; can't wait to start tinkering with it.

Wow the oculus looks amazing, and only $300 for the dev. kit (if I'm not mistaken?), that's a respectable starting price for the masses.

I think the shield looks reasonable, I feel handheld gaming has focused too much on 'portability', and under this banner has allowed itself to become obsolete compared to the emerging smartphone and tablet markets. Even still, it's hard to justify yet another handheld entrant into the market which doesn't seem to differentiate itself significantly from the competition, especially considering how quickly technology is moving forward.

My fingers are twitching to order an Oculus Rift devkit. I'd love to make a surreal exploration game for it. $300 is a trivial investment for something that might just become huge, and even if it flops, a Rift game decent enough to sell a few copies would pay itself back.

Oculus Rift definitely the best thing to come. It not only enhances immersion for certain type of games (especially first-person-perspective) but better and more gameplay controls aswell combined with a good joypad, at least in my solid theory.

Dev kits are $300. Consumer version pricing is not yet determined. Can't wait to get my dev kit though.

Whoa. That reaction video was superb. It really showed how the human mind starts to get truly immersed in another world.

I'm also interested in checking out Google Street View with the Rift. In fact, I can't wait till panoramic video comes along. Free ride with F1 drivers and Red Bull flight races.
