Title: Pongoal - a mix of Pong, soccer, colors and funny little creatures
Post by: B6ka on March 19, 2013, 06:01:47 AM
Looking forward to feedback on my recent game http://bit.ly/WynEUE (http://bit.ly/WynEUE)

Is it too slow, too fast, boring, needs more characters, needs more levels, bad palette,   should I keep it alive? Should I add leveling up system or is it too much for such a small game? Suggest some good tune. Thank you.

A new version with random levels and characters coming soon. Also looking for a collaborator to port the game on mobile platform.

Best,

yeah I like the details and the tiny solid colored characters they are beautiful,
It's a pretty cool gameidea too.
and the sfx are  fitting.

It did get boring for me after 4 levels or so then I quit.

It's OK, not a bad game, but you should probably make more levels. Music during the play would not hurt as well.

Good luck,

This is my favorite game of pong yet. I love the idea, the characters look cool, and youve got lots of little quirky things like the cat that you can hit in lvl 1. I love how there are people on my team and on the other team making the playing field interesting. I also like the penguin that freezes the ball, and how we can burn our team or the other team with the ball. Very creative and fun.

Thanks for encouraging comments, I guess I will proceed in making some more levels. I am thinking of the following additions (in case anybody's interested :))

*More levels and characters (especially secret characters).
*Possibility to recruit some players from the teams you defeated.
*Maybe some leveling up (kick strength, accuracy, reach).
*Will probably make it mouse only so that you can interact with some players. For example, tickle them if they get angry.

I would appreciate if somebody could suggest a tune for the levels.

P.S. I like when the cat comes out, seats, starts washing itself and the ball passes really close and it does not really care.

It's ok. I would move on to a new game - this one seems to be done!

Just released a new version with random levels and players. Also added many details and refined some things.

It is available on Newgrounds http://bit.ly/Ya5hqW (http://bit.ly/Ya5hqW)

I hope this is an improvement over previous version and would really appreciate feedback on the following points:

(1) Many players complain that there is too much randomness. I though of 2 ways to deal with it. Accept it and frame the game as a score-attack kind of more random lottery, or give more control so I increased flexibility and possibility to change team strategy. Do you agree that it is too random? Is there any other way to deal with it?

(2) Length of the game.

(3) Any slowdowns (with particles levels)?

(4) Is it worth to port the game to mobile platform (ios), what is the best way to do this?

Any other comments are very welcome. Enjoy :)
