Title: Game Advice
Post by: Danz0r77 on April 19, 2013, 07:49:19 AM
Hi there,

I'm new here and hoping to get a bid of advice.

I've recently been working on a small game and I'm a bit unsure where to take it really.

At the moment, I've named it "gridz" but not a lot of time has gone into that process!

Anyway, you can play a little demo here:
http://danieltansey.co.uk/gridz/web.html

Basically it's a game based on an old DOS game called Quadnet. The basic premise is: enemy bots spawn randomly, in increasing numbers, until you die.

I'm working in Unity, and have no real skills in graphics or 3D modelling. I just enjoy coding.

What I'm wondering is:
a) can this game go anywhere?
b) if so, how?
c) is there anywhere I can get help with the graphics/audio etc?

Any advice is welcome..

Thanks

Dan

Hey I'm new here too.

Heres a couple of websites you might want to check out:

http://www.stereobot.com/ - I haven't used this before, but as far as I can tell you can buy the rights to use the music uploaded here and use it in your game.
Freesound.org is a place you can use to find sound effects, samples, etc.

I'm no sound professional by any means, but I'd be willing to offer what little skills I do have to make a track or craft some cool sound effects if you needed it.
