PLAY IT HERE: http://excursive.weebly.com/ (http://excursive.weebly.com/)

Excursive is an idea born from bordum, the idea is a board game with the tabletop playing field being drawn by hand or downloaded from a library of game boards. The dice, cards and stats are recorded from within the app or computer hosted portion. The requirements for a drawn board will be included within the app allowing users at the office or in there living rooms to simply draw a playing field, grab something random for pieces and begin play on the fly. I wanted to create a game where your experience would change randomly with each play. Cards, damage and loot are all procedurally generated allowing for a new user experience with each play as well as little to no learning curve.

Website is up and running and the game is ready for a testing audience. Please if you have the time and patience to print and play leaving feedback would be a huge help.

Hey so I gave it a shot, and while I think it's an interesting experiment, I find nothing about it that compels me to keep playing.  The separation of the game board as "tabletop" and the cards and die etc. as "digital" feels pointless to be honest.  It's more jarring than anything else.  Perhaps if the story was more complicated and semi-permanent it would make sense, but if all you're doing is saving the player from having to shuffle cards and roll die?  I dunno.  Perhaps you can elaborate, maybe I'm missing something.

Ryan, Thanks a ton for giving it a go and I really appreciate you taking the time. The game is still pretty new and the concept is also suppose to apply to people being able to draw the board on anything at anytime, pick up random pieces and play through a quick game. I like the ideas of making it more compelling and will explore these ideas further. If you have any specific ideas or experiences with other games in the past that you think would make this more of a fun to play game then by all means let me know. Thanks again and your feedback is appreciated. P.S Keep your board printed out and as I update maybe you can give me some more feedback. thanks again.
