Title: Weebish Mines, my new Metroidvania game
Post by: Del_Duio on February 15, 2014, 09:24:05 AM
Hello, I haven't posted on here for awhile but wanted to say that I've just finished my Metroidvania game called Weebish Mines. I didn't use kickstarter, greenlight, or whatever else there is so nobody here has probably ever heard of it before.

It's heavily inspired by my all-time favorite NES game "Legacy of the Wizard" and was very fun to make. The plot is your pets have escaped and have gotten lost in the nearby mines. It's up to you, a family of four, to set out and try and rescue them.

It took me maybe 5 months total to complete.

There's a free 10 minute demo and the full version is $5 if you like it. They can both be found at my website which is http://dxfgames.com (http://dxfgames.com)

EDIT: I can't figure out how to embed the youtube trailer for it but here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjUNjHa6bDQ

That's mostly correct, though the game does look a little bit better since that video.

Thank you

Show some screenshots or a youtube vid or some gifs or something. Your description could apply to any of the dozens of similar games we get every week.

No, not like Spelunky one bit.
I put a lot of screenshots up, that should help make it a better thread lol.

Looks interesting, man. I'm on my chromebook right now so I can't try it, but I will try the demo when I get home. Not sure about buying the full version though, I'll see.

There was a bug that got the guy stuck in the ceiling when you exited one of the minecarts (at the very bottom) but it's since been fixed for both full and demo versions ands re-uploaded.

Looks like I should have zigged instead of zagged. You know how debugging goes, no matter how many things you find or fix something always gets through. At least it was found quickly enough.
