Title: Linger in Shadows Post by: Jared C on December 26, 2008, 09:00:35 PM I just bought, from the playstation store, the experimental interactive artwork, Linger in Shadows. I thought it was pretty interesting.
Short clip: http://kotaku.com/372172/watch-the-linger-in-shadows-ps3-demo It's pretty cool for just $3.00 Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: increpare on December 27, 2008, 06:14:23 AM it looks really interesting. to what extent is it interactive, though?
Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: Jared C on December 27, 2008, 10:23:53 AM You have to watch about 1 minute scenes, and then you have rewind, find the things that are interactive in each shot, and then sort of override a bar at the very top by moving the interactive object enough.
It has a really interesting use of six-axis. Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: William Broom on December 27, 2008, 05:53:35 PM I have no idea what you just said, but I want this game now.
Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: dessgeega on December 27, 2008, 06:13:15 PM you watch what is apparently a movie, but within each movie are elements you can manipulate. by manipulating them (and you have the ability to rewind and fast-forward to help you find them) you can find routes that take you deeper into the story, such that it is.

Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: Don Andy on December 28, 2008, 06:51:53 AM The manipulating is kind of tacked on and it's more of a tech demo for something that will never happen.
Other than that it's pretty cool though. Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: dessgeega on December 29, 2008, 12:54:31 AM well, it came out of the demoscene.
so, yes. Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: Michaël Samyn on January 02, 2009, 11:49:15 AM We bought this too (got ourselves a PS3 for Christmas :) ). It's really very good. If you like to be confused and mesmerized like we do.
It's not really a movie since you can rotate the camera around a bit and move individual objects around. I suspect it is a more or less linear sequence rendered in realtime 3D. I find the experimental interaction refreshing, actually. It's nice to be controlling something other than an avatar for a change. Title: Re: Linger in Shadows Post by: Jared C on January 02, 2009, 12:13:24 PM I agree :)... but what's woth the whole "WE" thing? :concerned:
