I'm very new to TIGsource, but it seems like a really cool website. I discovered it via twitter, and it looked like the perfect place to share an ongoing project that a long-time friend of mine is working on, known as Button Bashers. This is a 2-4 person fighting-game style card game, with combos executed via card combinations, similar to playing a match of street fighter. I'm sure everyone remembers their first fireball, or dragon punch. The same sort of button combinations yield unique special moves per character. The twist is in the way it's done. Both players share a single deck that has 9 unique cards in it: 4 direction cards (up, down, left, right) Four attack cards (light, medium, heavy, special) and a block card. It's up to the player to decide how to use these cards to deal the finishing blow to their opponent. It's fun, it's fast paced and it's incredibly addictive... and it's about 72% funded with 19 days left. All he needs is another $800 and this dream will become a reality. No donations being asked for, only your time and hopefully some interest in the future product! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/multibitgames/button-bashers Please feel free to leave comments and questions below... Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place! Title: Re: Button Basher's (Kickstarter) Post by: Fetus Commander on June 02, 2014, 07:28:21 PM Hi,
Just backed your project. I actually had a similar idea for a fighting game/card game hybrid (one that used the input from the game as currency), but couldn't really figure it out. Good to see someone else doing something similar :) edit: and shout out to upstate NY! Title: Re: Button Basher's (Kickstarter) Post by: Timjin on June 03, 2014, 01:35:47 PM Hey! Thanks for the response as well as the interest. The game is up to 85% funded today, and we still have another 18 days for around $450. I think we can do it!
Glad to see that there is interest in fighting game-based card games. I know there are a few out there like BattleCon or Yumi, but Button Bashers aims to distinguish itself by being incredibly easy to pick up but with room to master. My hope is that once it's out, the game can spread like wildfire, and we'll be seeing expansions for years to come! Also... Upstate NY <3, my home for nearly 25 years. |
