Ego is a game designer struggling with evil trolls. Defeat them all! (Spoilers: It´s impossible)
This was made with love, don´t spread hate, capital sins are a very serious thing. Specially in game design forums.
Sorry if you find bugs or its crappy! It was made in 3 hours.

You'll probably get more feedback if you say at least a little bit about the game here.

Anyway, it's all right. I'll make some comments, but know that I'm not really a fan of "score attack" games most of the time.

-I hate that I can't skip the story. Skippable cutscenes are, in my opinion, a must. People who played once might not want to play multiple times if they have to sit through that every time. The tutorial message also takes ages to disappear.

-I really dislike the controls. They feel completely backward to me. Most keyboard-controlled games I've played in the past few years have had jumping on the left and firing on the right.

-I felt like the gravity was too strong and the weapon never felt like it accurately went where I wanted it to. This meant that I eventually ended up just jumping and shooting randomly rather than bothering to try aiming.

-I really dislike the mix of different pixel sizes in the art. I find it incredibly unappealing as a whole, despite the fact that I kinda like the individual pieces (except the bullets).

-The stomping was a nice idea. It got me out of a few bad situations.

-The music's pretty good.

-Big issue: Because the "only three shots" thing only applies in the air, I can easily just jump constantly while shooting and make a wall of three-shot columns that nothing can get through. Maybe a "three shots on-screen" limit would work better.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to write, I know that the quality of the things that I make is very low but you keep trying my games and I really apreciate your awesome feedback.

As you can see it was made very quickly, at least for me and I´m aware of the several problem you notice.

For graphics, I cant draw anything, its not my thing, I´m constantly using oryx spritesheet and aiming to make something at least enjoyable.

I´ll tune the game and I hope you can try the new version.

I´ve added a description, is that ok or it needs more detail?

Thanks again.

You don't necessarily need to be able to draw. My only issue is with things not fitting together based on their pixel sizes. With the ground, for example, all you'd need to do is decrease the pixel resolution while retaining about the same dimensions so that you'd have larger pixels with the same overall appearance.

I forgot to mention that some enemies seem to appear too high for me to reach. I don't like not being able to hit everything.

The description seems fine to me. I find myself going back and forth on whether or not it would be a good idea to have a screenshot. It might, but the game has so little variation that a screenshot pretty much says everything, so I don't know.

Any chance you'll add powerups or enemy variety?

I´ve made several changes, please let me know if it got better.

PS: Had to reset leaderboard scores because has changed a lot.

I'm glad I can skip the cutscene, but maybe F and M shouldn't do that, since some people might want to mute but still watch it.

I think that not allowing shooting while on the ground might be a good change. It requires me to use the stomp move more.

Jumping feels terrible to me. I really feel like I have no control at all. A light tap of the jump key shouldn't make me go flying to the top of the screen. I would strongly recommend variable-height jumping (ie. if I let go of the jump button, my vertical speed gets cut in half or something so I fall sooner).

Everything else seems all right, I think. The difficulty seems reasonable and I can no longer get high scores without effort.

Next I´ll fix jumping, needs a lot of playtesting to be ok.

Besides all technical problems, did you manage to have fun or just feels like a waste of time?

Sorry, there´s a framerate related bug that I have to fix. Dont have enough time and since I dont get any positive feedback Im thinking in letting egobreaker like this and move on to something new.

There's a certain small amount of charm to the game, but I get bored of it very, very quickly. I've never been the type to try for high scores in something with no variety, though. I like to feel as if I'm getting somewhere. The thing that drives me in other games is often just that I want to see what new enemies and/or locations will come up.
