Unless this guy has mad level design skills, I don't see how he can improve on Super Metroid. He might as well announce that he's going to rewrite Lord of the Rings and make it more epic.

I only played the first area until I got killed by the fucking space pirates, and I don't really think I'm going to give it another go. The first area is just littered with noise, like the silver pipes laid out in every which way. It's totally distracting and I'm never sure if a silver block or pipe in the wall means something or is just there for the hell of it. Most of them seem to be in the foreground too which is totally deceptive... :I
