Title: unnamed dungeon game... Post by: fuchuzz on January 19, 2009, 07:22:24 PM I made this about a week ago, i just sat down and whipped this out in gamemaker, i plan on polishing it after getting some feed back.
UPDATED DEMO (latter problems fixed): http://www.fileupyours.com/view/220773/dungeon%283%29.zip Mirror: http://www.willhostforfood.com/access.php?fileid=50851 Controls: Arrow keys to move Up and down to mine up, and mine down once you have obtained the better pick axes. Space bar to use a barrel. Press f2 to go up a level, once you hit 45, all elements are added to the game. You can click on blocks to delete them in case you get stuck. Hit enter to continue out of the scoring screen. Power ups: The upside down golden ax once collected enables you to break blocks bellow you. The right side up silver ax allows you to break blocks above you. The machete allows you to hack vines so you don't have to use the flames to break them. Stuff: Flames from barrels can burn vines, and kill red turtles. You can go up and down ladders. Collect the blue gold to gain points, also breaking blocks give you points, matter of fact, breaking most any thing gives you points, in clouding vines, and enemies. Anyways, please enjoy... Here are some screenies... (http://www.fileupyours.com/files/220773/screenshot101.bmp) (http://www.fileupyours.com/files/220773/screenshot102.bmp) (http://www.fileupyours.com/files/220773/screenshot100.bmp) (http://www.fileupyours.com/files/220773/screenshot103.bmp) As for feedback, this game is close to complete, so I'm looking for bugs, and feedback dealing with polishing, although feed back of all types is appreciated... and certain elements, such as the ability to hit f2 to change the level, and being able to destroy blocks by clicking on them are going to be taken out of the final version. Enjoy. Title: Re: unnamed dungeon game... Post by: Sam on January 20, 2009, 03:36:04 AM Hi!
Haven't had time to play much, but a couple of quick bugs I found:
Generally, it seems easy to get stuck/lost, especially when you don't know where the exit door is. I don't quite understand what the arrows on the signposts mean, they often aren't pointing towards the exit? Hopefully more feedback later! Title: Re: unnamed dungeon game... Hopefully more feedback later! thanks for the feed back, okay, i will try and fix that power up error later today, and repost an editeded version, also for further reference, the black arrows point towards the exit, and the white arrows point towards the silver down pick ax, and the gold arrows point towards the up pick axes.
