Title: Insatia Post by: Kozinaka on November 17, 2014, 11:46:48 AM My project is called Insatia. To put it simply, it's a carnivorous worm simulator.
You can hunt for prey and fight other worms in an eat-or-be-eaten world. (http://insatia.kozinaka.com/storage/tigsource/PoorFlea.png) The project is a few years old and I'm working on the next alpha-release right now. I'll post some playable stuff soon. Here is a video of the work in progress: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf4V1RyW9JY It is an old one. After posting it, I got several comments asking why things just disappear when the worm bites them. Sure enough, it looked awful! I was so used to it that I didn't notice. So I spent a couple days making the worms actually chew and swallow their food. Now you can take a chunk out of another worm as you jump and then finish chewing in mid-air like it's no big thing: (http://insatia.kozinaka.com/storage/tigsource/BlackRedBlack.gif) Full-length video of chewing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIkx3w5IRjo So what do you think? Title: Re: Insatia Post by: theotheoderich on November 18, 2014, 12:12:01 AM Seems to be a funny game.
I like the art style of the background :) But I think you should rework the worms graphics. There style looks very different from the background art. Title: Re: Insatia Post by: Kozinaka on November 18, 2014, 02:39:53 AM Thank you! You're hit the bool's-eye: worms and other creatures will be redrawn. It's still programmers's art. :)
The last release is from it entirely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPyLfItubwo At present almost all environment features is already redrawn: (http://insatia.kozinaka.com/storage/tigsource/FeederPoster.png) There are some WIP-video width draft of worm's style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiXfPvZAmt4 |
