Unless, UNLESS they decide to reproduce in some degree or another the visuals of the game they will disappoint. Example, Doom movie: first person perspective scene. It just seems silly to adapt a game that is so simple and poetic, I think that expounding any more upon the story might just homogenize it.

Beowulf was awesome, because it was all animated. SotC has the potential to be pretty bad, what with the amounts of CGI I expect this is going to have to involve.

How is Shadow of the Colossus like a movie? OK, it looks cinematic, but the shape of the story is completely different. There's about 5 minutes of talking at either end, separated by 16 boss battles. There are only a few lines spoken in the whole game that aren't directly related to how to kill a certain colossus. There are only five characters, one of whom is dead and one of whom is a horse.They are going to have to add a huge amount of stuff to stretch that into a movie story. I'm not against that on principle, but SotC doesn't seem like the kind of story you can add to without making it worse. Especially if you happen to be the director of The Scorpion King.
