This might be a somewhat strange and probably too special request, and I can't explain it very well. It's one thing if the background music just suits what is shown in a video, but I really dig it when the music and video + sound effects are really synchronous, mainly when the video goes along perfectly with the rhythm of the background song.

This came to my mind again when watching Tarboy (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=7942.0), in which the sneaking + fight scene with the robot are just like I mean it.
Another example is the Bionic Commando Rearmed launch trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daDiZrmZb-c) for the most part, as well as this The Witcher/CD Projekt trailer (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-one-the-witcher/42117) (up until 0:46).

So, do you know any more videos of the like? :)

Trying to fit closer to the narration+music aspect of Tarboy, immediately comes to mind Tim Hope's "The Wolfman" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkxZf9LvLpI).

There are parts of 2012: It's a Disaster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZW2qxFkcLM0) that are synchronized.

Are you looking for game-related videos only? If not, I recommend watching anything by Chris Cunningham (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1ZGIrNf71Q), he's done a lot of videos for Aphex Twin and some commercials, he's all about that kind of thing.

If it helps find it, the technique is called mickey mousing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Mousing), since disney used to do a hell of a lot of it.

Apart from the very end there isn't anything synchronous, is there? Still a cool trailer, though, I've watch it a lot of times since it was released ;D

Wow, I didn't think there'd be a term for it. Although, I did actually think about how it seems to be rather common in cartoons :)

Though, I guess I won't find trailers like the ones I posted that way, as the feature of the synced audio/video doesn't seem to be what catches most people's attention. So, if anyone still knows more, keep it coming ;D

You aren't imagining things... every object that passes the train is mapped to an instrument or sound, so you are actually seeing a visualization of the music in the objects going by. It fits the subject line of this topic perfectly. Totally rad too. I hadn't seen it before.

By the way, for anyone else living in Germany or so who isn't allowed to watch that video without a proxy: It's the music video to "The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar".

As well as Fantasia 2000 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGkRQgk0s5U ) and "allegro non tropo" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K_APlv8TC0 ) which was an italian-made version of Fantasia done in the 60's or 70's and very trippy.

You might want to check out Koyaanisquatsi as well.  It's not really 'synched' to the music so much as the visuals and the music complement each other and work together throughout the movie.  You can watch it on youtube now as part of their movie content http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sps6C9u7ras

Doesn't work here in Germany, but I've actually seen Koyaanisqatsi not too long ago on DVD :) I didn't like it too much, but the visuals and the music were really nicely composed.
I guess most younger people, like me, first came into contact with Koyaanisqatsi through this GTA4 trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlF6fbIFiCM), as the music is from its soundtrack and used similarly as in the movie :)

Again it's just a short part of the video that's really "synchronized". But, even though I guess this kind of synchronizing the character's blows to the music's rhythm is a lot simpler than the typical "Micky Mousing", there are some really nice subtleties, like the weapon's breaking which is reflected by the music. Like it :)

I think it does, at least the fighting scenes, even though it's not as clear as in many other videos that were posted. And, either way, that's one great trailer :) I wonder if the game is also going to be that good, or if it's rather like Assassin's Creed. Perfect material for awesome trailers, but not at all an outstanding game..

It's not really a trailer as such, but it does have awesome music synchronisation.
