Title: VULGAR EXCLAMATION INDICATING EXCITEMENT, CHUMS! The Dingoo!
Post by: FishyBoy on September 17, 2009, 04:16:08 PM
This is nuts. (http://www.dingoo-digital-usa.com/product.sc?productId=4&categoryId=5)

System with a bunch of emulators built in including CPS1, CPS2, and Neo Geo, as well as homebrew support. It also does the whole audio-video stuff. It is only 82 bucks.

Your thoughts?

I would like this very much.
If someone else here gets one and can vouch for it I might obtain.

IT is if they don't include roms or emulators.

It does include emulators, I believe.

I think that it's only ROMS and BIOS that you don't own that are illegal, though.

Quote from: The Website
Due to USA legal issues the emulators are not installed on this console at purchase. You can at your own risk download emulators and software applications from the manufacturer’s website.

The ethics are astounding. It's like a ROM bong.

F'n amazing potential of indie games/rom hacks though.

Even without using it as an emulator its cool that it has audio/video/radio/picture/ebook/flash playback and voice/audio recording.

May I remind you of the fact that a PSP with hacked firmware can still be used as a normal PSP which has its own game library and stuff? Also, it emulates nearly every PS1 game at full speed and last but not least, the community is much larger which means there's a lot more (and probably better) homebrew available.

Of course, if your only intention is playing some 8 and 16 bit classics on the go, the Dingoo is probably the right choice.

Second the Pandora. It has some pretty awesome hardware, it's like a miniature computer and looks amazing.

This on the other hand is just a cheap GP32/GP2X knockoff from China.

You get what you pay for. I really don't recommend paying anything for some Chinese bootleg console that's practically unknown and especially at this price, who knows what you're paying for. It could be complete crap.

Well, as long as it's not as bad as the Chintendo Vii I guess. Still, I dunno.

A guy from my class got one, he says it's great. Quite powerful, good looking screen, etc. Very cheap for what it is.
