Speaking of awesome concerts, Big Star had an awesome performance in Cambridge back '74. The setlist is great, and includes beautiful covers of Velvet Underground's "Candy Says" and Loudon Wainwright III's "Motel Blues".

If you don't already listen to Big Star this is more than enough reason to start.

I love Elliott Smith, he's definitely my favorite songwriter -- I have the New Moon t-shirt to prove it. I'm working on a "Biggest Lie" cover at the moment.

Here's an amazing concert he did in Sweden (with a 'Thirteen' cover, even!), if you guys dig it I'd definitely recommend his discography:

EDIT: Answer to pop quiz... I'd have to say his self titled. He has wonderful compositions for his later work, but I love how intimate those songs are. Roman Candle is in a similar vein but not as strong as his self-titled. XO would probably be a close second, followed by Either/Or. I love all of his stuff, regardless.  Smiley

he brought a lot of energy to his performance tho. on that note, 80's iggy pop would have awesome for the role.

Saccharine Trust is like bizarro-world Wipers, but they rock just as hard as Greg Sage

bento: let's all take a moment of silence for all lost frogs, crushed by the gluttony of hungry men.

Bee Mic, duly noted.

but icycalm says it all the time, and icycalm is never wrong
those several hundred times were either from icybalm or his supporters, everybody else only uses it sparingly for satirical purposes

and for the record i only made out with a dude one time, and i was stoned.

this is fun stuff, the final boss was a bit too arbitrary for my liking. you totally made up for it with your Nintendo Power Counselor Corner bit, though. =)

i'd play the hell out of this rpg, i'm glad you're focusing on the combat system and not on needless grinding. if you want i could proofread your script -- lucid dreaming is a fetish of mine, and while i'm pretty haphazard on these fawrums i'm a stickler for grammar.
