podunkian facebooked something about Weezer and Pinkerton; even though I didn't care for their self-titled albums as a teen I find this album to be quite nice. Probably because I'm a suave and sophisticated 20 year old.

Just ate hot dogs and carrots for lunch. (disregard any phallic connotations plz)

The combination of middle schoolers + a cold + being a substitute teacher's aide instead of a teacher sucks, btw.

Thanks for the feedback! Generally my aim is to make the game in question interesting -- and entertain the reader while doing so -- so I'm glad I hit my mark. I'm still working on my 'style' per se, at the moment I'd like to think I'm a melding of Costik's taut prose and the99th's pseudo-gonzo ramblings. I've been reading a lot of Tim Rogers lately, so that's probably where the "look at me, ma, I'm writin!" bravado came from. I'll keep the dashes comment in mind for future reference.

if any of you people are kind enough to read my stuff, do you guys have any comments/critiques? (or comments re: my writing style in general?)

^Good shit

Teenage Fanclub's Thirteen. Yes, the album title is a Big Star homage. Yes, they rock.

I taught myself how to play the guitar when I was 16. I discovered Sonic Youth shortly afterwards, and their alternate tunings and prepared guitar technics have kept me busy since then. I have a broken autoharp, a toy piano, and a harmonica that I've made music with, but those probably shouldn't count.

I also sing, terribly, but not in front of other people. I'm working on it though, by singing along with Elliott Smith tunes.

Your soundtrack for Arvoesine was boss.  Hand Thumbs Up Right

It sucks that this never got any replies -- after playing Space Funeral I decided to delve into your other games, and I'm pleasantly suprised. This is some funny shit, the Lydia Lunch reference made my punk pride swell. Speaking of Punk, you can't get any more so than crayon graphics. I don't think I beat it though, but I had an awesome ten minutes.

I really love the dialogue here, the ape protagonist made me smile. I really love the DIY aesthetic as well --
I loved it! Grin

True, I was thinking it should have gotten an honorable mention simply for it's quality.
IMO it deserves an honorable mention simply for making me aware of Les Rallizes Denudes Smiley

In a study of men aged 24 to 36 seeking treatment for infertility, Panayiotis Zavos, Ph.D., confirmed the results of earlier studies demonstrating that smoking harms sperm quality in every way, from longevity to motility. But Zavos also found that smoking affected sexual behavior. The smokers had sex an average of 5.7 times per month, while the nonsmokers reported an average of 11.6 encounters. And on a scale of 1 to 10, the smokers rated the quality of sex at a lackluster 5.2, compared to 8.7 for nonsmokers."[119]

A Zelda-like from earlier this year, Dragondot, had a jump button that worked rather well. As others have mentioned, visual cues and a consistant rate of fire are also sound.

having the temperature go above freezing in the middle of November and the subsequent rain storms that follow. /sadface

Paper Mario was way awesome when I was 10, haven't really played any sequels.

Muh pal Brother Android has made some pretty sweet tunes.

I honestly am not a Phologiston fan, but his tracks for Super Crate Box are pretty boss.

As mcc noted, Space Funeral has the best soundtrack, ever. (the hyperbole is only slight here)

this also helps me plot out future "Play This Thing Loud" posts, so thanks doods.

I unfortunately decided to quit smoking right around the time I was going to hunker down and write ten-odd reviews.  Epileptic Hang in there Phubans.

679  Player / Games / Re: Where are all the indie stealth games?! on: November 19, 2010, 01:00:43 PM
Definitely.

If you like being stealthy, you'll probably enjoy Nikujin (as Sinclair mentioned) and many other Ikiki games.

I think it's lighthearted as well, the subtlety just goes over the head of the average NG'er (wow that abbrevation is borderline offensive).
