Yeah I tried that and it told me:

"Java for Apple

Apple supplies their own version of Java. Use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java for your Mac."

The jacket is enough of a thing that he's his own character, I like it.

I get "The Java JAR file “delver-alpha-5-27-12.jar” could not be launched." on OS 10.5.8 - is Java no longer supported on Leopard?  Reading the readme lead to the Java page which lead me to Software Update which had no Java updates.

Still really looking forward to trying it, as I'm on something of a dungeon crawler frenzy at the moment.  Wizard

Yeah it's the tapering. The legs currently look the most Fez-like so if they were smaller and the head were larger and more rounded maybe?

I dunno, even if he's not actually a bulb, I think there are some slightly differently looks to try, example: the large and small eye of those white creatures in Princess Mononoke? Something asymmetrical, perhaps?  A weird head shape?

Thanks, yeah I was concerned about the parallels with Fez and was afraid I might be drawing too much direct inspiration from it (because man I love that game). My dilemma in this regard is that the gameplay is based on the character being essentially, a giant light bulb, so that's why he's a pure white colour. I've played around with it for a while but I can't find anything else I like; but hopefully when people see it in motion it won't be so fez'ish but it's certainly something I need to keep an eye on and get feedback over Smiley

This is brilliant, and if his silhouette looked a little bit more like a lightbulb, I think he'd have a very distinct look (have you experimented with altering his shape in this way?)

I'm awfully sorry I don't know the ins and outs of Java (eg is it tied to a specific platform as Flash can optionally be via projectors / Air.) So please forgive my foolish question.

But anyway, that's great, I'll be giving it a go tomorrow!

This looks right up my street.  I couldn't gauge from your first post, but is a Mac version already available?  Would love to play!

The art in this is giving me great late-era Amiga vibes, the game seems really interesting too.  Also keen on the idea of a Mac build.

I'm so excited about this!  Kiss

Looks very beautiful, I'd love to see how the light ng / shaders plays out in motion.

My only criticism would be that the protagonist is a little generic and similar to the Fez characters, to me anyway... The rest of it is totally unique!

You guys!  Well, hello there!

Btw, I'm really interested in hearing people's interpretations of the plot, the answers are all in there somewhere, despite how it looks!
