Hello this is Pencerkoff FROM THE FUTURE!
I know it is a long shot, but does anyone still have this game sitting about their harddrive? It's the first game I ever made and it is the only one that I no longer have anywhere.
I'd appreciate it if you checked, and of course I would owe a sizeable favor to anyone who did recover it.

Hello this is Pencerkoff Arch Rival: Dr. Keith's Kooky Korean Keish-Selling Kiosk
Is that a regional spelling or something? It took me a minute to realize you meant quiche. (Unless keish is something else entirely.) All the F-alliteration is a bit too Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist. Huh. I didn't make up my own spelling of quiche, but maybe I learned the wrong way to spell it. That's what I meant, though. And Freddy doesn't have the copyright on F-alliteration. -PENCERKOFF

Hello this is Pencerkoff
Now that I see your screen I'm not concerned about that. I had a game with a screen-sized HUD that was unchanging except for the text on it, which could not be redrawn every frame without major processor consequence.
Does your code all still work if you don't target the HUD surface but instead put all of that text-drawing code in the draw-event, after you draw your surface to the screen? That's what I said to do, basically. Keeps your HUD squeaky clean from text contamination.

Hello this is Pencerkoff Any opinions on 'Dr Fortunio's spectacular floating fortune telling booth'? And a short description? Well you travel around in a boat from level to level, making sure that the bazaar and impossible fortunes you predicted come to pass, lest you get locked away for perjury. Bit of a puzzle game. Ah. I don't have any screen shots or such yet, but I'm drawing sprites while I await some tec support, so here is the good Dr with some NPC. He is the one in the top hat. I'll take a crack at it. A good name should roll off the tongue, even if it isn't spoken aloud often. I hope you don't like Fortunio too much, because that's the first thing that I can't seem to say without a lot of thought. Spectacular isn't a bad word, but it seems out of place in that title. 'Famous' would fit the alliteration, though. Might want to consider a hyphen in Fortune-telling, seems to help me understand it I guess. Example: Dr. Fortune's Famous Floating Fortune-Telling Booth Arch Rival: Dr. Keith's Kooky Korean Keish-Selling Kiosk -PENECERKOFF

Hello this is Pencerkoff
Sounds like you got your order mixed up. It should be: Draw HUD surface to screen, Draw text to screen. If you draw the text onto the surface itself, every frame, then it would just stay there. Also that would be awful on your processor, saving that surface every frame.
Granted what you said confused me greatly, so maybe that's not it.

Hello this is Pencerkoff
Spontaneous Ignition is great, even if it isn't truly spontaneous.
Gigglemoo: I'd go with "Rockethell in Vegas" with no need for a subtitle. Rockethell sells me on so many levels. Might consider creative font use to distinguish between the words as to avoid the "th" thing going on, wouldn't go hyphen though.

Hello this is Pencerkoff What do you think about it? Have you suggestions?
I agree Bloodris is a bad move. Even the idea that you collect "blood" seems very out of place. Also... an homage to Tetris doesn't require that the name reflects that fact. I think you need some plot. Like your awesome block machine machine is powered by demon souls, and now the monsters are pissed off and attacking you, but that only adds to your stockpile of demon souls. Soul Stockpile sounds like a good band name actually. Well whatever. -PENCERKOFF

Hello this is Pencerkoff
I can't help but think it made more sense back when I read just the script many months ago, though I also recall it not really making any sense then. A monster was created this day, and though it bore tentacles aplenty, no single plot stuck.
And yeah, many pages are off because I wrote my page after Melly. So maybe there is some salvage to this thing.
So... number 5 then?

Hello this is Pencerkoff
I've used the fps variable with success, though I tend to set the room's framerate to something like 3000, and then measure the fps by looking at the debug screen while running the game. Not very pretty but it will give you an idea of how badly any single effect takes away from your processing speed.

Hello this is Pencerkoff It's called "Safety Instructions" You were right to come to us. This name requires improvement. "Full Upright Position" "A Flight Attendant's Worst Nightmare" "REMAIN CALM" "How to Resolve Your In-Flight Catastrophe" Just wait for Pishtaco, he'll do better. -PENCERKOFF

Hello this is Pencerkoff I'm making a little game that's about a Hobo on his quest for redemption.
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
Something in there, maybe? -PENCERKOFF

Hello this is Pencerkoff Don't forget to make the upper torso twist, the shoulders should be moving back and forth with the arms. It's worth the extra time. The stomping leg doesn't seem to bother me, though I feel in that perspective the foot should land further downward, since he is facing slightly into the screen. That may not be something to fix if you want the character to move purely to the side. -PENCERKOFF
