Thanks! It's funny how we begin this world crawling out of vaginas and then spend our whole lives trying to get back in them.

I AM FRUSTRATED AND UPSET BECAUSE I AM NOT THE TARGET MARKET OF A RANDOM AD. Nah, I'm more frustrated and upset that there's people who actually buy into stuff like this. And in turn, they turn into haters because the marketing they bought into told them to.

Although, I shouldn't be too upset. It's pretty clear that people are getting sick of the same regurgitated FPS and racing and MMO games being shoveled out these days. Advertising that sinks to this level, to blatantly attack a specific franchise, denotes the last-ditch maneuvers of a dying genre. The sooner this pseudo-realistic 3D trash is gone, the better. May the renaissance of cutesy, retro pixels be ushered in with open arms!

So I just went on YouTube and noticed an ad featuring two games. On the left was a fictional game called Cutie Kart, a bright, colorful kart-racer similar to Mario Kart, etc. On the right was some dime-a-dozen racer with realistic-looking cars blazing down the road in a blur, hence the game's title. I think it's funny that they were comparing these two games and telling gamers to "grow up" and play their game, when their parody game looked far more interesting. But still, the message they're trying to send pisses me off for a number of reasons. It's this kind of marketing that gives more impressionable people in the late-teen to early-20s demographic the idea that Nintendo is making games for babies because they employ cute, iconic characters and colorful worlds. Which isn't fair, because Nintendo's games are fun and innovative and they refuse to sell out to the "hyper-realistic-shoot-every-thing-that-moves-with-huge-explosions-and-super-fast-vehicles" motif that everybody else is employing... And it's just getting old. If anything should be synonymous with immaturity, it's that kind of bullshit, which brings to mind the image of someone in their early teens trying way too hard to be more like an adult by going out of their way to adopt a bad-ass image by drinking, smoking and fighting. No. You become an adult when you've done all that shit and realize it was never cool to begin with. In summation, I hate marketing gimmicks period, but doubly so when they target the more personal aspects of our lives like age, sexuality, and so on... And yeah, if I had a choice between "HURR-DURR-BLUR" and "Cutie Kart", you could be your ass I'd be going with the latter.

Pardon the double post, but I'm just gonna dump some images of food I've made along with what's in it to give people ideas of what to use All of this stuff is vegetarian, too: Breakfast: Toasted Asiago cheese bagel with herb & chive cream cheese and Yukon Gold potatoes fried with red onions and garlic. Haluski: Boil water to cook the egg noodles while frying cabbage and red onions in a pan with oil and/or butter. Combine cooked noodles into pan and add egg(s) if desired. Season with salt & pepper and serve! Falafel Spaghetti (my personal specialty): First prepare the falafel by getting fresh ground falafel in powdered form; add water, stir and let sit for 15 - 20 minutes. Boil water for spaghetti noodles while forming the prepared falafel into balls or patties. Pan-fry falafels in grape seed oil on medium heat, turning regularly. If the falafels melt down in the oil then you're doing it wrong. I don't exactly why this happens, but it might have to do with using too much water in preparation, not having the right temperature, or not having the right kind of oil. Falafels should maintain their form and become crisp and golden brown on the outside. Place finished falafels on paper towels to drain excess oil. Pour heated (optional) tomato sauce over finished spaghetti and crumble cooked falafel over the dish. Season with Parmesan cheese and buckle up your tastebuds! Pesto Potato Pizza (P 3): Not my proudest creation, as the potatoes should have been pre-cooked instead of just being sliced and baked with the pizza... They ended up a little firm. It was the first pizza I made from "scratch" (if you consider the dough shell scratch ) Oh, and please excuse the picture quality; it does these dishes NO justice. These pics were taken before I got a proper camera.

Sweet, I posted this on my Madhouse forum a few years ago, but it's pretty relevant to this topic, so I'll share it here: BBQ Beef Biscuit Cups! 1) You get ground beef and cook it in the skillet on medium heat, add spices and sauce. 2) You should use BBQ sauce, sloppy joe sauce, or a ketchup/vinegar/brown sugar mix. Experiment! 3) Get a cupcake pan and line the cups with biscuit dough (the canned stuff). Preheat oven to 400+ degrees. 4) Once the meat is finished cooking, scoop it into the hollow biscuit dough shells and then top them with shredded cheese (preferably sharp cheddar). 5) Bake these little suckers in the oven until the biscuits are cooked and golden brown, with the cheese on top melted... 6) Serve with a side of oven-roasted potatoes or the like... Enjoy! Those meat-filled, cheese covered biscuits are DELICIOUS and EASY! But I've made my own take on the recipe... CHICKEN ALFREDO BISCUITS!! Basically it's the same as above, but instead of beef use chicken and instead of BBQ sauce use alfredo sauce with chopped garlic and top with mozzarella cheese... WOOOOOOOW!! You can also experiment with different sauces... I once used chicken and taco seasoning and that made some of the tastiest biscuits yet... Let me know if you try this stuff! Yeah, I don't eat meat anymore, but if I did, you can bet I'd be munching on these things... They're SO good!

1. Buy Mini-CDs 2. Buy labels & cases for them 3. ? 4. PROFIT!! In fact, I'd love to do this with some of my games... I mean, I like that everything these days is downloadable because it's less materials being produced to harm the environment, but there is a certain novelty to having a physical copy.

This reminds me of 1993, when some people (including myself at one point) believed that floppy disks referred to the 5.25" ones and hard disks referred to the 3.5" ones.
It always reminds me of this kid named Jacob who had a speech impediment. He told me his computer had a "hard dick drive" and a "floppy dick drive". I think he was in the misconception that hard disk meant 3.5".

I was just thinking, maybe I should rephrase this to, "Don't go back to school unless you're living with your parents/rent-free, or are financially stable enough to support yourself and pay off your loans."
I'm turning 29 on Tuesday and I don't have a job. There's no gaurantee that I'll have one when I finish, and my parents can't really afford to help me. Hence, the added stress of school.

What about SD cards? You might be able to find some cheap low-capacity ones on eBay, but then not everyone has SD ports on their computer...
