Heh, it's actually not that complicated; it's just something I threw together in Photoshop this morning after reaching Hell last night. Here's the original:

EDIT: Though I think it would be pretty funny if someone infiltrated those hate groups with a sign like that.

Awesome game, I posted my thoughts on the front page. Forgive my one comment that might come off as a bit harsh; I was pretty frustrated with that one area of the game, but the rest is pretty much fantastic. Here is my feedback:

I'm at a point where I *think* I've explored everything I can and everything that hasn't been reached seems like I need some kind of add-on ability like high-jump or float-fall... Not sure if these mechanics are in the game, but I'm otherwise not sure how to proceed through some areas.

Also, I think this game would benefit greatly from a Metroid-style mini-map with 3 states per cell: unexplored, explored, and complete (complete being the state it gets when you've collected the bag in the room/done everything you can there) - Granted not all rooms have a bag but maybe they should? Though that might screw with your current %age complete algorithm.

Nope, no excuses for performance here; I'll be trying to move and it will replay my character moving to the same spot over and over again. Last night it was really bad, but that was the fault of our ISP (who knows? maybe it always is?) Had a ping of 2700+ for a good hour last night.

I just almost lost a hardcore dude to a disconnect.

Scarier than any monster in the game.

Speaking of this, has anyone had trouble with lag in this game? There's been a few sessions where the lag got so bad that it rendered the game unplayable. You'd think Blizzard could afford better servers? :/

I felt the same way as eyeliner about having fingers on the gameplay screen of smartphones; keep in mind that I come from a console game background. I think this problem isn't as big of a deal with our game because your only input is to tap the screen. The timing and length of your tap is important, and that's about it, so you can do it just about anywhere, like down in the corner where you're not obstructing your view of anything else in the game. Works pretty nicely!

I agree with you Fallsburg; I, too, was disappointed by the increasing lack of variety and length of each act, which made me enjoy act IV the least (the entire act basically took place in one big dungeon, there was no town unique to the act, and the overall theme was kind of boring...) I feel like it's a bit of a misnomer to even consider theme IV a standalone act, thematically, since it could have easily been the grand finale of act III, and end of the game.

I did think they managed to cover good ground in terms of the biomes themselves though; I can't really think of any particular type of area that was left out. I think the overall length feels just right considering most players are going to run through the entire game multiple times. I took me 25 hours of playing before I beat Diablo on normal mode. I did miss a few things when my friends rushed around in multiplayer, but my thorough pace of exploring every corner of a dungeon probably more than made up for it. I think most people could probably average 20 hours on their first playthrough.

Anyways, yeah, for the sake of theme/content, acts 3 and 4 should be consolidated into one act and that should be that.

On another note, I read somewhere that Blizzard said that we shouldn't expect any content DLC for Diablo III. Too bad, I would have liked to see more areas :/

How the hell is that guy a community manager? In his twitter feed he comes across as a self-absorbed 14-year old gamer kid. He sure doesn't seem interested in representing his employer well.

I wondered the exact same thing. The whole hipster shtick "2 legit 2 quit hay hay" bullshit made me wanna send a level 25 monk fist through his fucking face.

Sorry if that sounds terribly violent, but I've been drinking scotch and just got my monk to act III in normal mode. The monk is crazy in that he just takes enemies apart like it ain't no thang. The demon hunter actually has to be a little more tactful.

There's four total difficulty levels, and after you beat one it goes to the next. Here's the order:

Normal > Nightmare > Hell > Inferno

Each one sees an increase in monster damage/health. Also, every time you go up a difficulty level, elites get an extra ability. Nightmare elites have 2 abilities, hell have 3, and inferno have 4.

Ah, thanks. I'm not sure why my friend told me there were only 3 difficulties in total when he's playing on Inferno?  Huh?

I'm confused about the difficulty levels... I played through Normal and now I'm about halfway through Nightmare, but the confusion is to what comes next. On the game loading screens one of the tips says "Beat Nightmare difficulty unlock Hell" and I've heard people refer to the next difficulty level as "Hell" while more still refer to it as Inferno... Or are the two terms used interchangeably? Originally I thought there were 3 more levels of difficulty that came after beating normal, but my friend said there's only two?

I've got a low-40s level Demon Hunter that just finished Act II in Nightmare, and a low-20s Monk that is about halfway through Act II in Normal. I also have a Hardcore Barbarian that I haven't even started with yet. Fun game.

Yeah, the plan is to have the game on Android, and once it's on all 3 mobile platforms, it would be cool to look at PC/XBox360 releases. If you guys are anything like me, you don't even have a smartphone and PC is the most accessible route. Of course, I'd also love to see some kind of level editor released with the PC version so users could create their own content Smiley Of course, it all depends on how much time we want to spend on this game post its release; I for one am looking forward to remaking Madhouse!

Yeah, the Windows Phone market isn't looking too hot, which is why we'll be porting to iOS and Android. Once that is complete, look forward to a PC and XBox release, as well.

This is looking nice guys, like the name and video.

Just wondering what the differences are between the video for the IGF and the current build?

Mostly a ton of polish fixes both in the graphics and the gameplay. I think the most noticeable one you could see is that levels now use lightmaps to give them a little more volume and depth with shading (compare the recent screenshots to the video, which looks pretty flat by comparison).

There are also three themes, and the video only shows one (the Warehouse).

You guys seem really uncomfortable when it comes to talking about sensitive issues.

...Is that male guilt I'm smelling?

Isn't that the very same thing rapists do?

Well, I'm out then.

I need a drink.  Tired

I've got a huge bottle of sake in the fridge, help yourself.
