Fooled around with some clay and sculpted an old character of mine. Say hello to Bunji! ...It's not perfect. I really want to fix the motion in the loop, but just getting it running is good enough for me- for now, at least.

this forum's collective creative power is such that when it sets out to make robots, it accidentally creates A NEW KIND OF HAT UNKNOWN TO MAN UP TO THIS POINT along the way.

Besides, I'm specifically looking for multiplayer games. Somebody was telling me about a Gauntlet-style for the Turbo-Grafx called Dungeon Explorer. Anbody know if it's any good?

Obviously not trying to undermine Cheater's effort, but the bolder lines go well with the logo.
Could this be our new logo? What say ye?

Actually, there is.
From Wikipedia:
After the consensus was reached that The Muppets' Wizard of Oz failed to deliver critically, the question hung in the air if whether or not another Muppet film would be made. A new film has been confirmed by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, who both plan to produce the next Muppet film. They have also stated that they will both write the next picture, but only Stoller will direct.
On March 31, 2008, First Showing revealed details about the new Muppet film. Coming Soon reported similar news. After an interview with Jason Segel, First announced, "it's going to be incredibly old-fashioned, with the familiar Muppet characters putting on a show to save an old theater. The danger? An evil character wants to tear the place down to get at the oil underneath." Segel stated that he was the most enthusiastic about the project, also stating, "I just remember being 10 years old and for me Kermit was Tom Hanks. Kermit is like the original Everyman and I remember watching the old Muppets with my parents and seeing Peter Sellers and people like that on. I've always had Muppet pictures and figurines all through my house. Now that I'm getting to write it, I feel like all of my dreams are coming true."

I've tried the engine demo too now, and it basically feels "right", though for a fast-paced action game I guess something with even more immediate response might be even better. But that's probably just a matter of minor tweaking.
Also, I agree online play would be a huge draw. I guess that's not really feasible with Game Maker, is it? But whatever, if this thing does get off the ground, then maybe a reimplementation in another framework is more feasible. At the moment it's most important to get something out there, I guess.
And one last question: any reason you specifically mentioned Xbox 360 controllers as opposed to any generic gamepad? Surely any old gamepad would do?
If you pay for the full version of GameMaker (I think it's like 10 bucks), you can allow online multiplayer and suchlike. Although you could use any old gamepad, the wired Xbox 360 is the most popular, as it can be used on the PC as well (having a USB cord), and is a fairly well-made controller. Demo looks hawt- more, please!

Developer / Art / Re: The Uncanny Valley. Fact or Fiction?

I think the Uncanny Valley can be quite subjective, but holds up as a general rule. For example I don't find the Heavy Rain trailer weird at all, but I really hated the characters in Oblivion and Beowulf. Who would have guessed that a topless Angelina Jolie could be so repulsive?
On a side note, did anybody else find the fact that Grendel had high heels for feet incredibly hilarious?
