Your level 0 doomerang hits for 13 damage. Cloud winces slightly.

Removing his sword from the phallic position, Cloud holds his sword out perpendicularly in front of himself. He seems to be surrounded by an orange glow emitting from the ground. A coloured banner above his head reads "Omnislash".

I'm so indie, I've completed all the Deadly Rooms of Death games. While on a hiking trip across Canada.

Just today I've been thinking about an old windows 95 puzzle game that I played ages ago. I think it was called "Tombstone", but I'm not sure, and I can't seem to find it with google searches. I'm pretty sure it was shareware.

Basically, it was a western themed tile based puzzle game, where you had to get to an exit using a set number of items that were given to you in each level. I think there was dynamite, but I don't remember any of the others.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? Smiley

Apologies for my lack of activity lately - I've been offline for the past week or so. There are five new games on IndieFAQs - Eternal Daughter (courtesy of Boder, thanks!), Fedora Spade, Missing and Immortal Defense provided by Rinkuhero, and Within a Deep Forest.

What does Marsellus Wallace look like?

How about adding a section on each applicable game's page for cheats, debug codes, etc.? A lot of homebrew games have those, but I've never seen anyone try to collect them in one place.

That's a good idea Smiley I'll start by looking through some of the games that are already up.

Someone do Gish. I don't have enough time to do it myself Tongue

Sorry, never got into Gish Sad I'll have a look around for a walkthrough, though. (should be doing another update this weekend). On the other hand, if you do find time, it *is* a wiki Tongue

Yeah, I saw that, thanks Smiley

Feel free to fix any other mistakes you see around the site - no doubt there are quite a few Smiley

Make that 25 games instead of 20 - I just added a few of Yahtzee's adventure games.
1469  Player / Games / Re: IndieFAQs on: January 08, 2008, 11:29:46 AM
Right on, sweet idea.

I added the page to Stumble Upon so maybe some other folks that play indie games can find the page and help contribute.

Oh, cool Smiley Though at this point they're likely to find the site and think "WTF? There are only twenty games on it!", heh. Tim offered to let me synchronize the site's content with the database on freeware.remakes.org, but that would just have the problem of having lots of game pages without walkthroughs.

Haven't ever written a walkthrough before but I like the idea so I think I will have to Smiley

Excellent Smiley I'm thinking of writing a proper, full english La Mulana walkthrough myself when I get time. Right now the best resource out there seems to be DeceasedCrab's videos...

Haha - I love these actual games implemented in Inform. They never fail to impress me. That tetris one is cool too.

Is this sorta thing possible in Inform 7, by the way?
1471  Player / Games / Re: Let's Play the B-Game Competition Games! on: January 08, 2008, 06:28:24 AM
That's pretty good! Looking forward to seeing a few more.

One suggestion though - in the video you turn down the sound of the pirate kart because it's too loud, but you turn it down too low. In fact, you can barely hear the sounds of the games because of it Sad Maybe something to keep in mind for the next video.

Thanks, Spincut Smiley

I could add guides for my games (where applicable).

I've been meaning to write a walkthrough for Glow for quite some time, to try and clue people in to the needlessly obscure leap of logic required in the last level.  Angry CSRPG2 could also do with a walkthrough; even though the game is ancient it keeps getting downloaded more than anything else I have.

Yeah, feel free to! In fact, if everyone did that, it would quickly become a useful resource Smiley

The Griffon Legend was released in 2005 Sad Nice to see it get some attention though - it was an interesting game.
1474  Player / Games / Re: IndieFAQs on: January 07, 2008, 04:55:39 PM
Oh, wow, didn't know about that one Smiley I'll add something to the site about it. Thanks!

(Sorry, I just love using that cheesy grin message icon. Smiley )

I thought I'd just mention a website I put together over christmas. It's called IndieFAQs. It's a wiki that hosts walkthroughs for indie games - at the moment there's not a lot there, but I've started it off by adding about twenty games. I'm hoping that as time goes on other people will add a game or two to the site as well.

I decided to make the site for two reasons: (1) I was using an online guide to find all the hearts in An Untitled Story when all of a sudden the site hosting it went down (and neither google or wayback have a cache!) and (2) I get about 100 hits a day from google from people looking for walkthroughs for various indie games that I've mentioned in my blog - and I thought it would be nice to help them out. It seems like a central place to find walkthroughs for indie games would be a useful resource.

So... what do you think? The site's still only starting out, really! Is the template ok? How about the tone of the site? I'm also handing out admin accounts to whoever wants to help Smiley

I was actually in Amsterdam a while ago, and it's true - they *do* put mayonnaise on their burgers and chips. Then I went into a McDonnalds looking for a Royale with cheese, but apparently I misremembered and it's actually a French thing.

I would've voted if it wasn't for the shortness and/or timing of the voting period..

Oh, sorry - why didn't you say something? It wouldn't have been a big deal to change that...

Based on the amount of votes, IF is definitely not a very popular genre Smiley.

Well, not around here, anyway Smiley Maybe we should start posting more IF stuff to the frontpage?

Also, looks like Derek is still off in whereever he is, so I'm going to go ahead and post this to the frontpage...

Voting's over. Check the first post in this thread for the results!
