Thanks for the comments guys! I'm really glad ye liked it! Grin

The psychedelic colors at the end were a bit jarring compared to the rest of the game I thought. Perhaps you intended for that though.

The idea behind that was to signal to the player that something's not right - by being so out of place at the start of that path I wanted to

ok that's a cop out - I just secretly love plasma effects so much and wish I could use them everywhere in every game Evil

Really nice.  On a game level, it reminds me of a hybrid of Passage and Storyteller, but neither of those games has a fraction of the emotion involved.  I honestly felt something from playing this game, and that's something not a lot of games can do.  Again, awesome work.

Thank you; if I managed only that in any project I'd consider it a success Smiley

Dear Mr Terry,
You are the David Lynch of small games.

You've got a hot date tonight! Say the right things, and you just might get lucky... Well, hello there!

I made this in about two hours for KOTM over at Glorious Trainwrecks. Inspired by Samantha Fox Strip Poker and Hentai games!

Heh, I've been vaguely thinking along the same lines. HERO'S mighty quest to destroy VILLAIN and rescue LOVE INTEREST or something like that :D

Excellent! I can't wait till next weekend! Grin

terry bear,

(1) i assume rpg's can be like heavy-rpg metroidvanias?
(2) do i have to join the rpgdx forums?

(1) Sure, any kind of genre splicing or reinvention is fine!
(2) You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Wizard

Heya! A site that I'm affiliated with is running a contest-like-event (jam) next weekend, and I thought some people here might be interested in it!

The theme is simple - in 48 hours, create an RPG. Your design should be informed by the jam's theme : "LoFi". Other than that, there are absolutely no restrictions on how you approach things! Even the deadline is flexible - if you want to start a little earlier you can, or later if you're busy on that friday and want to make a weekend out of it you can do that too - and thanks to the way things are over at RPGDX you can pretty much do as much preparation as you want on your engine and assets (the point being that all you should really be making during the jam's 48 hours is actual game content).

Trying to create an RPG in a mere 48 hours is one of the most breathtaking, life affirming actions you can attempt! That is a slight exaggeration! Still! Nothing quite shakes you out of your comfort zone so effectively as this - no genre is as ripe for experimentation and reinvention as the RPG. Smiley

Really hope to see some of you take part in this!

Oh shit, I've still got 15 minutes!

Time to fire up Klik and Play!

Terry, from my limited internet interaction with you, I feel like that post right there sums you up pretty well  Tongue

Heh, probably, yes Smiley

These games are really cool! Hand Shake LeftGrin:handshakeR: Great work, everyone!

Some brief comments:

lovely: I love the darker theme of this one - it's really well done Smiley
coulomb's law: Neat interpretation! Found it really hard though WTF
i love you: Nice, but subtle as a TRUCK
heart heist: This is just wonderful, I can really feel the love and care that went into it! Smiley My favourite from the contest! Beer!
kiss me: Very nicely done Smiley Will have to try it multiplayer when I can!
mouse and mouse: This is wonderful too - I love its simplicity and polish! I think with some reworking this could work really well as a single player puzzle game if the levels felt a bit more deliberate...
love me: I regret nothing!
european hand love with boy 1 and 2: Second one in particular is kinda cool, though having to restart the entire game once you lose put me off getting too far Sad

Here's my game! Made in 15 minutes, or thereabouts! Don't bother playing it, it's awful.

Brilliant idea! Very very well implemented too - this must have been pretty tricky to get working right!
