Hi, I'm Isobel.

I've been lurking a couple weeks now... I just started playing with Game Maker a month or so ago, and this forum has been a really nice resource! I don't know if I'll have much to say but just in case I thought I'd get an account and introduce myself.

A few years ago, I played Angelique, a dating sim (sorta) for the SNES. The ROM was like 5% translated, and considering that it's a dialog game, that's pretty bad. But it was still really really fun. Right after I played it, I was like, "dude, I'm going to make my own Angelique game!" But I quickly got frustrated because I had a really hard time finding good tools and tutorials.

I just recently got the urge to try again and was amazed by how much more support there is for indie/hobbyist/fan game makers. It's made learning a lot more fun than frustrating.

As a gamer, my favorite games are your stereotypical fangirl games like Final Fantasy 7, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends with You etc. I also love The Sims, Mario games, Rock Band... I hate 99%  of FPS and RTS and fighting games because I suck at them and they're boring. I like text adventures, as long as they aren't too hard. Favorite games right this second: Gun Mute, Robot Unicorn Attack, and Super Mario Galaxy.
