2008 album of the year Voyager by Manilla Road. It's really really good, even the hardest to please fan can safely put it on the same pedestal as Crystal Logic. It's really that good. Of course, if you know absolutely nothing about Manilla Road then won't mean a thing to you but for those that are in the know in regards to classic cult trad metal bands you should already be hurriedly trampling all underfoot like the gals at a clearance sale in order to get this album right about now. If you haven't already.

I'm probably in the minority here but whatever is done with low-poly planes it really needs a dash of Wing War added to it.

You can always turn off the new features and just use ZDoom in a way that is (close to) vanilla DooM with high resolutions and mouse sensitivity. But then you might as well use Prboom instead since it's more accurate.

Is that the fruit born from the "black metal Heretic" idea that was tossed around briefly? I haven't been paying attention to it since it's not HeXen but if the project is in need of a couple static object graphics I might possibly be swayed.

No, but I keep a really close eye on it. I usually stop around the Doomworld and zdoom.org forums once a day to see what people are working on.

I wanted to ask you guys if you can recommend any mods for Doom (or Doom II for that matter).

We could be here all day you know. jute capped a few of the ones that I'd suggest (though not KDiZD but that's a real love it or hate it thing. The de-remake for vanilla DooM 2 is something to watch out for though) but there is just too much stuff out there to list. Your best bet is just going through the idgames archive and looking through all the four and five-star and the occasional three-star wads. If you want to waste a solid day or two. Yeah, actions repeating whilst holding down the keys is a problem inherit to old Europress "klik" software, unless you set up some events which curb this which I couldn't get around to due to time constraints. The same time constraints that got in the way of proper difficulty scaling.

There are two archives on there, I'd go for the second one because it's more recent. As I never test any of my games (it's a tight two hours) it's probably filled with lots of little "features" instead of the massive "features" which usually find there ways into whatever games I make so you can assume that I've honed my craft until next month.
