Also no feedback sucks yadda yadda.
Feel stupid flailing a wiimote around? Try flailing your arms around without holding anything.

It's the reason why you made cardboard wheels and guns as a kid.

I won't believe a single thing of that unscripted nonsense.
Remember when they praised Bioshock pre-release? Yeah that was supposed to be unscripted as well..

Microsoft has the money. Give away the kinect FOR FREE to every person that owns an XBox360. It'd cost an obscene amount of money, but it'd be pretty much the perfect marketing offer (Nintendo Power giving away Dragon Warrior with a subscription is the closest I can think of) and it would immediately erase any problems with it being a peripheral.

There are a lot of operations problems to solve with regards to making that happen, but it would be pretty huge and do a lot to make the kinect much, much more competitive.
Uhm yeah, if they are simply be charitable they would do that. If they are still running a business they need to make a profit.

I don't see where Microsoft is going with this. For hardcore gamers it's more or less useless. The closest thing they've shown to an actual game using it was the head-tracking in that racing game, hardly a game-breaker.
The casual market has the same thing in the Wii already, maybe not that capable, accurate, whatever but significantly cheaper and already proven.

There is also the latency that people saw when it was demoed. Sure that might be fixed but I won't get my hopes up.

I really liked it, I liked how the world glitched more and more out as you disobeyed the commands. Made me think of constructivism.

Who cares? LBP 2 looks AWESOME!
326  Player / General / Re: Rayman: Origins on: June 17, 2010, 01:20:29 AM
But then again it seems more like a combination of the 2D of the first Rayman and the more wacky nature of Rayman 3, which is good in my opinion. Rayman 3 was one of the most funny games I've ever played.

Wow this topic title really works! The first thing I thought when I saw the title was "that sounds like those south African football thingies"
The first thing that I thought about was this.

Another, more amusing one. Not amusing for the players involved of course but for all of us watching it's laugh city.

Oh god, I hope they decide to visit a world cup match.

I really enjoy hearing everyone complain about vuvuzelas.  Durr...?
329  Developer / Technical / Re: C++ users: SDL or SFML? on: June 12, 2010, 10:36:38 AM
kada2k9, your post contributed absolutely nothing in a comparative context since it was only about self-confessed ignorant prejudice O.o *applause*
Good thing I apologized in advance then  Smiley

However, he did ask what people prefered and why, so I can't really give more than my subjective opinion, can I?

Well yeah, but your opinion is useless if you know only about one of the options (and you obviously do know only about SDL).
330  Player / General / Re: What Are Some Good Zelda-Like Games? on: June 09, 2010, 06:44:23 AM
And why gog over steam? DRM free? Just looked into prices and in stem it's 4,99$ while in gog 9,99$
The GOG version apparently has some important fixes in Beyond Good and Evil's case.
331  Player / Games / Re: Shattered Horizon on: June 09, 2010, 12:19:00 AM
Whatever, you have sound in Shattered Horizon so that is already kind of a stretch. And even in space accuracy will still be like this: sniper rifle > assault rifle > shotgun. Sure they all shoot bullets that fly until they hit something but even in space shotguns spread more.
yes, but his point is that the spread is actually more useful in space, because any of the multiple projectiles could do serious damage  Smiley
Yeah, that would be the case if single projectiles were really as devastating but even before the update you had to empty a lot of bullets into other players to kill them.

So yeah, it's at a point where making it any more realistic would get really silly with stray shots killing left and right.

It's a really good concept and works quite well in my opinion. I think we had a topic on this already if I remember correctly.

I tried it out. It looks pretty nice, though the author apparently never heard of how to use surfaces to scale the graphics with nice crispy pixels in GM. Maybe Chevy could drop him a line. Smiley
The dude made 8bit killer. He definitely knows how to get crisp pixels if he wants to..
335  Player / General / Re: NOSTALGIA BOX on: June 04, 2010, 07:14:10 AM
My bad. I know what a Gameboy Advanced is, and I know what Pokemon is, but they look to be the only cool things in that box to me.

Same here but I'm German so duh.

Dude made 8-Bit Killer!

thanks to the 2nd trailer, The prodigy have just made a triumphant return in my life.

the track at the end of the trailer, INVADERS MUST DIE is my new time-to-suck-today's-dick anthem.

HIGH ENERGY!
Also Be Your Own Pet which just makes it more awesome.

Niceee!
339  Player / General / Re: Giant Bomb's Endurance Runs on: May 31, 2010, 02:46:55 AM
I wouldn't really call Persona low-profile.

But yeah they are fun to watch, though I find the Brad and Ryan one less amusing. Vinny and Jeff simply seem more funny overall.
