Re to the OP: you could use views to draw a smaller viewing area over a larger view port (ie. view_wview = 320, whereas view_wport = 640 {That may not be the actual name of the variables.}) So you'd be drawing a view with a width of 320 pixels over an area of 640 pixels. This only really works with sprites though, and if you try to draw a line or a circle from functions, it'll have a higher resolution, and if something lies "between" pixels, like with an x of 60.5, it will appear offset from the surrounding pixels which lie on whole number coordinates. You could also use surfaces, if you have the registered version. It's more, I guess, "true" in that, unlike using views, every pixel drawn on the surface will be enlarged, including things drawn from functions, and pixels that lie outside of whole numbers.
I like "retro" graphics because I find them aesthetically pleasing. Nothing more. Just personal taste. I have just as much appreciation for the high-fi graphics in games nowadays, but I guess I feel more inclined to the pixelly kind because they lie within my artistic abilities as of now, and self-imposed restrictions are fun.

That was weird. The animation is undoubtedly great but I wish it'd had something other than zomg flashing lights shaking screen crazy sh*t. Too random. And that final boss was just annoying. She didn't even leave an opening for attack! If this were a real game I'd be pissed to have been beaten by that boss. The sequences, sure, got more epic and grew in scale and power as the video went on, so did the animation, and towards the end I felt it began to lack the subtle details which make this dudes animations so awesome in the first place. Not to mention all the zomg flashing lights shaking screen. Cool, but not much else.

Sweet dude! I really love the usr the barrel as a way of staying on ledges and stuff. There're a few collision pains, but as you said, it's quite playable. It's a bit hard.

Oh, there's a boss? Now I have to get to it! But like I said, it's a bit hard.

Soul Calibur is probably the only fighter I really like outside of smash bros. I'm not a big fan of star wars, but I'm still looking forward to this game, I just won't play as the star wars characters. It totally ruins the theme. Pretty dumb, putting them in anyway, but whatever. Only Soul Caliburs I've played though were the first and second, both of which I enjoyed immensely.

I cannot program. I never finish anything. Anything less than perfect is unacceptable. I bore quickly. Once I've the engine and everything all worked out it's no fun assembling it into an actual game. "put this here. this here. this here. this here. Make this sign say this, this this, this this, test. Can't jump that far, move the platform closer." BO-RING. Of course I rarely get that far. -I tend to undertake projects that are too complex, I can't stick to simple games, and if I try I tend to add little details until it becomes too complex. that too.

And that is just plain out nonsense, I haven't taken a bath in months, let alone changed my clothes..
such slovenliness as this no self-respecting human would ever show! It is a well known fact that werewolves also find great pleasure in wallowing in their own filth. I'm leery of you, you possibly self-incriminating fiend!?

I apologize if my new avatar disturbs you.
That... is fuckin' awesome. I'm already imagining an awesome platform game where he has to charge up his head. Woo, that's a good idea! *steals*

You feel yourself pulled upwards as you begin to ascend the fire escapes of your soul. You soon are high enough to rival satellites and spy on Saturnites, or the planet Mars.
What now? >
