you need 3 balance boards (are you talking about the wii fit?)
one the player with the guitar stands on normally
the other two players each strap one to their ass and stand ass-to-ass to control some part of the npc person

this would be really helpful for those people who are stuck using middleware programs like GM or MMF, as well as... everybody else

a friend and I were loitering this afternoon, and suddenly he verbally exploded, rapidly speaking in tongues... apparently about a game we needed to go make in our basements

this is what I extracted from his crazed babblings:

most of it is a strategy game of some sort (potentially turn-based battles)
it features an npc with super eccentric mannerisms who is dripping with badassery. this npc is the sort that everyone feels is much more awesome than the main character, and should instead be the main character. let's name him sam for now
  the game features several difficulties
you start playing with a normal 'gamepad' controller of some sort
beating the game on hard mode unlocks a third difficulty setting "super hard mode", which is super hard
beating the game on super hard mode will unlock Nightmare mode
in Nightmare mode you play as the aforementioned badass npc, but instead of the strategy gameplay of the previous difficulties, the game transforms into an shooter of some sort where you shoot the enemies by strumming your invisible air-banjo-kalele while pointing it at them. beating Nightmare mode with reversed controls in under 10 minutes (there's a setting to set the fps up without a maximum, skipping frames that can't be drawn on the screen fast enough) and <a few other ridiculous requirements> unlocks Super Nightmare mode
to play in Super Nightmare mode, you must hook up at least 3 wiimotes (each played by a different player), a guitar (guitar hero guitar, assumedly), and a microphone. the guitarist will somehow strap their wiimote onto the end of their guitar. whilst screaming into the microphone, he or she must strum random notes on the guitar while aiming the wiimote at the desired enemies. the other two wiimotes control the legs of the character and the head/various psychokinetic abilities of the character.
beating the game on Super Nightmare mode will destroy the universe.

Step 1: Build an automated aeroponics farm.
Step 2: Build a small solar power plant
Step 3: magic occurs
Step 4: Independence

also business is, in fact, serious business

good luck to you in your endeavors, good sir

has anybody checked out the new motion comics? aside from one man hilariously doing all the voices, it's a pretty neat idea. Read the comic first, but if you already have, check it out.

what are you talking about here? sounds intriguing
is there a link for this somewhere?
872  Developer / Collaborations / Re: QAB - Quick Adventure Box on: March 04, 2009, 01:24:06 PM
yeah actually I've started messing around recently with an ingame animation editor with similar features to that of Flash (keyframes and what Flash calls "motion tweening") which could end up being used in an editor for QAB

I'll share it if my shenanigans produces anything usable

I actually just finished reading the comics yesterday, and they were intense

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie
874  Developer / Technical / Re: Is there a need for another game making tool? on: March 01, 2009, 07:26:21 PM
I've considered trying game maker again, but it's not cross-platform.

not sure this is entirely true. if it is, it isn't for long

879  Community / Cockpit Competition / Re: Chuck Yeager's BLASTMOSPHERE!!! on: February 28, 2009, 09:49:19 PM
it's visually really nice, but I quite disagree with the flying physics and the feel of the controls.

do you plan to keep it so that you can only face in one direction?
