EDIT: that was a reply to a post by falsion who apparently removed the said post.

Don't worry it stands swell on its own.

I guess Talismania, also a game from Popcap is sort of like that, too.

Also, she has an embassy appointment before the end of the jam, so she'll be heading back before me.  I'm quite nervous about traveling alone.  Hopefully one of you natives can help me make my way to the airport?  I was thinking I'd just take a taxi, but I dunno how far it is from base op.

I think Airport Tegel is the closest to our location and about 18 minutes with a car/cab according to Google. It's where I'll be arriving (on Friday morning) and leaving (on Monday evening). The hostel has info how to get from the airport to the hostel with public transport on their homepage (on english), so I figure if you ask there they'd give you info how to get back too.

Still haven't quite decided whether to take a cab or not myself. Depending on how well I can carry my stuff I'll just use public transportation.

Haha, I kinda like the idea. It kind of reminds me of those cheap 3D games like "3D Chess" or something which are basically just a lame 1:1 copy of a board game without any additional features but in 3D!

But anyway, all in all I like the sound of it.

We need to film the event from different angles and then cut it like an action movie with lots of slow motion and cgi explosions. And lensflares.

Hokay, I'll just bring all recording related equipment I have lying around, cheap as it may be. I could also ask my father for a digi-camcorder. Maybe he still has an old one lying around. I know he had one once, but I haven't seen it in years so maybe he broke/lost/sold it.

I guess I'll also bring my Wacom Graphite4. I don't use it myself, since I can't draw, but maybe somebody else has use for it for the duration of the event (it's pretty small and easy to carry around).

Only thing I couldn't bring would be a projector. Thing we have is massive and weighs tons. Need an extra alu-coffer just to carry that thing around.

But yeh, if I can bring anything else that's not too big and/or heavy just holler and I'll see if I have something like that lying around.

Oh man, reminds me of my Naruto times.

I can bring a cheap 15€ Webcam I have lying around somewhere :D

I intended on bringing my regular camera, which can also make videos, but it's primary function are photos so it's probably not better at the video thing than the webcam.
329  Player / General / Re: The Wii Sports Resort Thread on: July 26, 2009, 11:49:30 PM
The only thing that bugs me about this is that I haven't even got Nunchucks for all my Wiimotes yet and now I'm supposed to buy another peripheral that costs exactly as much as a Nunchuck for every single Wiimote I wanna play Wii Motion Plus games with.

I'll probably only get one single of them for that new Zelda game, unless it requires me to wield two Wiimotes with Motion Plus at once which would surprise me either.

As for Resorts itself, if it were to work WITHOUT Wii Motion Plus I'd be all over it.

Name (i.e. What you want people calling you to your face):
Andy, preferably (although Germans can go with Andi if they really want).

What I does:
Boring business app programming at work and hating myself for procrastinating at home.

Some of the things I've worked on:
I've made a Flash port of Hideous' game Banana Flip but that's about it.

BIGjam participation:
Maybe AS3 programming and maybe Construct, but I'm not really good with either.

What I want out of TIGjam:
Learn and pick up things mostly. Above jamming I'm interested to see how you guys jam, mostly because I never met other persons interested in making games before. I'd also be up for small-fry jamming, but I'm a really slow thinker (and thus slow programmer) so be warned.
If there are lectures I will happily pick all of those up and if there is alcohol I will happily pick that up too.
331  Feedback / Playtesting / Re: Psycho2 (Newly completed game) on: July 06, 2009, 02:35:13 PM
I really liked game myself, although I do think you should've made the whole "Disregard the red scribblings that lead to the actual ending" thing a bit less obvious.

Part of the charm in Portal (which does that similar, regardless of whether you got it from there or not) was that you did not initially know that the thing guiding you is the evil one. Well, it became obvious pretty early on, but you didn't know about the scribblings right away.

Also I agree with Mr. P on feeling a little bit cheated on the ending. You at least should've put something along the lines of what's "beyond" the computer and how that leads to a "to be continued". The "fake" ending felt much more fulfilling than the "real" one.

Gameplay wise, I felt the controls were sometimes a bit sluggish, but considering that the amount of precise platforming was rather low that's forgivable. I also noticed that sometimes when on a slope I couldn't jump, but I'm not really sure how to reproduce it. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't.

All in all I would've wished for a bit more backstory (but I always want that I'm a sucker for game lore) and as podunkian said, maybe a bit more meta and/or braintwisting puzzles. Although the one with the money was pretty cool.

I'd play a Psycho 3.

I figured it were just my clumsy, greasy fingers, but I too have jettisoned a captain or two already because a door didn't respond :D

Nothing game breaking for me, but it's nice to hear that a better version is already on its way.

But without the bitching the whole marketing thing wouldn't work so well.
334  Community / Townhall / Re: Evacuation out for iPhone on: July 02, 2009, 04:41:07 AM
Excellent! These are the kind of games I want on my iPhone. Hope to find it in the German iTunes shop.

I thought we already settled on Super Joe being Billy Mays.
336  Player / Games / Re: Weird Worlds on: June 30, 2009, 01:17:53 PM
I'm in much of the same boat, although I love spending a few minutes on a playthrough or two now and then. It's the closest thing to a spaceship roguelike I have right now.

The only thing still bugging me is that I still can't figure out whether I stand a chance in a fight or if they will hopelessly obliterate me. It's mostly the latter.
337  Player / Games / Re: Weird Worlds on: June 30, 2009, 05:58:19 AM
Yeah, I guess you guys have a point there. Didn't know about the plain text though.
338  Player / General / Re: rayman! on: June 30, 2009, 05:01:08 AM
I never made it past level 1 of the first Rayman, but mostly because the game greatly confused me. I haven't tried it again since I was like 10 or so, though.
339  Player / Games / Weird Worlds on: June 30, 2009, 04:17:44 AM
So I recently fired up Weird Worlds - Return to Infinite Space again and I'm sort of surprised there seems to be nothing like a wiki or other kind of website dedicated to it. I mean, every roguelike these days has at least a cheap wikia listing all the items and hidden stuff in it.

I mean, it's pretty old, yes, but is it really that obscure?

Don't you do the same thing in Wolverine? For some reason nobody complains about it there.
