Well one option is to recruit a skilled animator! Like anything, to do animation well takes time and practice. But - if you really want to animate yourself I`d suggest doing some basics first, like the first exercise I did at Uni was to draw about 4secs each of: 1. a bouncing ball 2. a balloon 3. a heavy ball dropping If you can animate those 3 convincingly then those techniques can be used in various combinations to create all sorts of other animations (not always using balls obviously - rather it shows you can express a sense of weight/timing etc). Also - the guy who did the original prince of persia rotoscoped home video footage he made which helped a lot rather than drawing all from scratch, but you still benefit from being able to draw basic animation when it comes to cleaning up the converted frames. see `POP` video examples here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAjRNU3DbSYAnother World was rotoscoped too - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_World_%28video_game%29

Mr longface-peon demonstrating why I should add an outline to that sprite. Your thoughts on any of the sprites visible there would be appreciated more info herefor such small sprites I`d suggest using a palette for the characters that doesn't use so many of the same colours used in the terrain, at the moment its a sea of brown so why not try stronger more unique colours to differentiate the sprites, then you can always knock them down to suit the environment later. Also if you get time try pushing back the background scenery colours (I`m assuming the building is background?) as its a nice cheap way to make clear what is interactive or not. hope that's some help: ( <- quick eg with men and building)

Welcome to the NATURE CONSERVATION STATION, crew. Remember to look out for the space monkeys. Made using the same 32-colour palette I used for some pixel arts earlier in this thread. that looks fab!!

That looks awesome, Peter. I hope you do make it. This is going to be a game, luck withholding. Props to anyone who identifies the character designs. Everything's going to be cleaned, but I wanted to play around with scales. This is what I came up with. So much content to do it's not funny, considering I've got so little time to do it. that looks fantastic - my only crit would be the tall grass looks a little lethal, perhaps because its so orderly laid out.

i wish it had a slot for my pc engine carts, emulation is great n all but I`d rather not have to re-buy old games all the time.
