here we go  Smiley
(a little nitpick: unfortunately in the beginning you will see a scene twice... poor editing :D.... noticed that when i already uploaded it...oh well)
anyways the whole playthrough itself is unedited and maybe it will give you some hints where you could improve the game

edit:
found and beat the secret section as well.

tried it... nice visuals.
didn't played it for long. tiny window. no fullscreen by pressing F4...

tips:
maybe slow down the controls a bit.
map should be closed by the same key that activated it.
neither Esc nor Alt+F4 closed the game.
(had to press ctrl+alt+del)

furthermore here are a few good hosts for you consideration
(it isn't necessary to download the software in order to use dropbox... you only have to create an account. just click on login in the upper right and you will be directed to a page where you can create an account)

The site is awesome, but holy shit on the videos. Did you play/capture from each game or did you pull some footage from existing videos or what? I can't imagine how long that would take. The result is awesome though, so thanks for it :D

With the links at the bottom it's just the perfect format to introduce shloads of games.

well...every game is playtested.  Wink

for the 235 games video every single video was recorded by myself over the course of about 20 months. (started around october 2008 with recording the first videos)

for the 190 video it wasnt possible to record all videos by myself since for some games isnt even a demo available...therefore i had to take existing footage from the devs to create that trailer.

Thanks a lot. To get up there you need to boost and then walljump twice off of the two things without spikes on one side. Also JR Hill I realized after that I forgot to fix that system but it should have been fixed in the new version. I might upload a video of me beating it just to show you guys.

Edit: Nevermind fraps doesn't record it properly.

allright... i have mastered it.  Smiley
as you said the game looks much better in motion...and therefore i will record a gameplay video soonish.

nice game. minimalist black and white graphics with rainbow effects: great art style!
jump, wall jump, boost, break through stuff, shoot...a really promising game!

things that could be tweaked a bit in my opinion:
the moving speed. a tad too fast which makes precision jumping harder than it should.

keep it up! that's some good stuff you are working on  Smiley

edit:
how to get up here?

Hi everyone,

i have finished it!
It was a pretty long ride and i would like to thank you all for the support the whole time.  Gentleman

Well, now i can finally present the finished site to you:

Announcement on PixelProspector

->Special Thanks to Jason “JaJitsu” Boyer who is responsible for the creation of the great Pixel Prospector Logo, furthermore Beau “teknogames” Blyth for the font colorization, Phil “PFiTec” Facaros for the arrangement of the graphics and additional font consultation by Hannes Pasqualini.

Here we go:
I recommend to start with these 2 videos since they showcase all the games on Pixel Prospector in 10 minutes.
The first shows 2.5 sec clips of 235 Indie Games.
http://www.pixelprospector.com/2010/06/235-free-indie-games-in-10-minutes/

The other shows 3 sec clips of 190 Indie Games (that are currently in development).
(however some were released after the creation of that video)
http://www.pixelprospector.com/indev/2010/06/190-free-indie-games-in-10-minutes/

Now for the user friendliness:
If you watch the Trailer embedded in any site you can click on the button located at the bottom of any game and the Trailer will pause automatically and opens the choosen video of the game in a new tab.
Now you can watch a 2 - 10 minute gameplay clip of the selected game and click afterwards on the link in the description field which directs you to the related page on Pixel Prospector where you can find additonal info and the download link etc.
(If you watch the trailer directly on YouTube this won't work for some reason.
it will open the new game in the same tab...)

However there is one advantage if you watch it directly on YouTube: Timestamps.
Just open the description field and if you click on a timestamp the video will jump immediately to that game)

Moreover:
on pixelprospector.com i did a more structured approach.
for each game there is some essential info:
download, developer,size,year,homepage,dev tool...

media coverage
(i added links to reviews on other sites to each game)

lets play
(i also aded many lets plays from other players)

videos
(each game features a pixelprospector gameplay video and sometimes a link to additional videos from other players)

installation required?
(i thought this is also helpful... that way you see instantly whether or not a game needs to be installed)

->on pixelprospector.com there will be 1 new game a week. (with gameplay video and stuff)

Where are the new free games?

So maybe you've come here looking for some new free games, and been disappointed that there hasn't been anything new for ages? Well I'm working on something at the moment, that it seems I first mentioned a year ago! It's not even a big game. Hopefully will get that out soon and then onto the next thing!"

...CamStudio is okay but I couldn't find a lossless codec for it that worked on my system for a while and then even when I did I couldn't find an editing program that would allow me to easily deal with clip editing and stuff.

Codecs are scary bastards and it's nice to not have to deal with their troubles when using Camtasia :p

try the techsmith screen capture codec.
the codec is free and works with camstudio.  Smiley

for editing i recommend avidemux.

i'm aware of google docs and how it works -- however, i also think there's less of an obligation to do work if you can simply just edit a text document. which is why the reservation system was put up in the first place. having your name on the reserved list is a responsibility!

indeed the reserved list brings some pressure and responsibility to the table.
however i thought an additional document would be better than hopping through dozens of pages on this thread.
since the said reserved list doesn't show any progress a document of some sort could fill that gap temporarily.

KEEPING TRACK OF GAMES-> collaboration tool

why not use something like google docs. spreadsheets for that matter.
->everyone who is invited can edit stuff...in real time.
(heres a video that shows the new google docs released in april 2010)

for example there are 52 rows and 5 columns.
game #1 / developer / progress in percent / estimated  release date / a bit individual text

that would be way more clear for everyone involved to see the progress of everyone and for mr. podunkian to keep track of the games etc.

theres also stuff like typewith.me or sync.in
(online collaboration word processors....no registration whatsoever required)
