1  Developer / Indie Brawl / Re: Indie Brawl: Wiki on: November 10, 2010, 03:58:42 AM
I thought the Wiki was a good back up too. It's a shame that Skofos Wiki is gone, it would have saved a lot of work if we just could have copied & pasted it, instead of collecting the resources all over again.

Anyway, I took the liberty to create a new one on Wikia. Here's the link:

There's not much to see yet, so feel free to dive in and start adding content!

Schöner Artikel!
Looks like you guys had a great time once again. I really hope I'll be able to make it to the next jam. Going full-time indie hasn't necessarily improved my financial situation, but if I start saving money now, by next year I should be able to cover the travel expenses, a sandwich and a beer! Cheers!

I must endorse that more people should follow @rostiger on Twitter.
Why, thank you. Gentleman
So let's all have a Twitter party! I'll throw another one in the mix:

how about a Minecraft stage? Here's an idea I had of one

Maybe there could be a day/night cycle (at night items appear more often?) and occasionally a piece of the stage breaks or something? I don't know, the more I think about it the more work it seems to take.

Hey, nice mockup! If it were to be made, I'd need to have destructible environment though. Wink
5  Developer / Indie Brawl / Re: Indie Brawl: DOWNLOAD- New Version 10/27/10 on: November 06, 2010, 01:04:10 AM
What, a brand new version an no comments yet?
I downloaded and checked it out. I must say that it grew quite a bit since the last time I played it and it all looks pretty damn sweet. Blocking could work out pretty well too, however I can't really judge it playing only by myself.
I'll try to start up a session with my fellow Broken Rulees next week, I'll make sure to post a feedback summary then.
Keep 'em coming!  Hand Thumbs Up Left

Hells yeah, this is awesome! One more reason on the list to visit Winnipeg some day. I'd love to see a video of you guys playing IB on the Winnitron, it seems like a perfect match.

Wow, I absolutely dig the visual style! The choice for the control sheme is comprehensible and works pretty well too - I especially like how you solved the menu navigation, allthough it needs getting used to when there are multiple menu items.

However, I'm missing some kind of motivation or a more crisp risk/reward scheme.
It took me quite a while to get the timing and speed right, but there still are a couple of jumps where I'll always fall. I gave up pretty quickly because I was missing the reward for learning certain parts of the level by heart.

As this probably still is an early version of the game, I'm curios what else you'll come up with. I'll keep an eye on this.

Cons:
- No feedback. You are either in or you are out, without explanation. This can especially hurt if your game isn't polished and you want to know what you can improve.

This is too bad really. The judging forms have many different categories that are explained in every detail. You have to give 0-10 points for each category to get the overall score.
All this data could be valuable information for the developers that get denied. On the other hand without further explanations the numbers might still be interpreted wrong.
My guess is they decided against it because of the amount of games submitted and the additional work going along with giving feedback to every developer. Anyway, it would still be good for developers to get some feedback of why they were rejected.
10  Community / GAMMA / Re: Globetrotters playable online and on iPad on: August 19, 2010, 02:16:23 AM
Oh, I haven't seen this post in here before. Well, just wanted to let everyone know that Globetrotters got a pretty big overhaul and the new and improved version is out on the app store too. Globetrotters even got it's own new place on the interwebs and can be found here:

Unfortunately the flash version lags a bit behind the iPad version with all the new stuff, but still it's worth a mention.

Aaaww, too bad it won't out for me timewise this year. But as it seems, all tickets are gone already anway, so I wish you all a great jam!
Make sure to take some pictures!
Cheers!

Wow, so much going on here - great stuff!
Sorry I have been so absent lately, but there just so much going on at the moment that I can't commit myself to work on IB much.
But it looks like everything is coming along quite nice! I really have to sit together with a couple of people and playtest it soon.
Keep up the great work everyone!  Hand Thumbs Up LeftSmiley

Alright, Fuzzy Ink made it into the next round! It was really an exciting head-to-head race and they actially made it by only ONE vote! Many thanks to everyone who took the time to head over.

Just to avoid any confusion: in this competition you don't vote for a specific design, but for the label itself. If you're interested in what each label produces you can check out their websites and see what they're up to.

Also: I don't have any personal gain by lobbying for Fuzzy Ink. I'm not part of the label, I don't get anything if they win, nor did I get paid for my design in the traditional sense. I just enjoyed collaborating with some super nice people that share many aspects of the independent craftmanship spirit and would love to see their efforts flourish. If I could, I would always want to work with people of such similar mindset.

That said, I'm sure many of the other labels deserve a vote too, but personally I prefer the design style of Fuzzy Ink the most. But please feel free to check out all of the participants. The quater finals are on right now, so if you feel inclined please head over and push the button!  Hand Any Key

Thanks for your attention! Gentleman

Oh, by the way, I just found out that for every round they advance, they raffle one of their crazy Monster Fuzzys!
14  Community / Announcements / Down for the Count Released! on: March 25, 2010, 07:45:01 AM
Hello there everyone, it's me Rostiger! I'm tend to jump between lurking and active participation here at TIGSource, but you might know me from my Indie Brawl pixel art contributions or the work for Infinte Ammos Heroes & Villains, or even last year's TIGJam in Berlin.

I would like to use this thread for some shameless advertisement, but wanted to introduce myself shortly, so people don't think I'm just a random spammer. Also if you want to skip the self-advertisement, just jump right down to the important part!

Here's the scoop: I had the chance to collaborate with the independent clothing label Fuzzy Ink (probably best known for their awesome Mario hommage 'Game Over') and the result is quite smashing, if I may say so myself (which I just did!).
Fuzzy Ink just released the shirt including quite a collection of stylish new designs, as well as a whole new womens line. Check it out, their stuff is lovely! And they are awesome people!

IMPORTANT PART!
And that's why it would be super cool if you would jump over to the Tee-Madness Competition and vote for Fuzzy Ink. They are the red button on the very bottom of the column!

The competition runs out in a couple of hours and I know I'm way too late on this, but every vote is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your attention and have a good day!

Heres a Kyntt Stories remix Ive done enjoy ^.^

Wow, I really like this. Maybe a bit too slow for a fighting game, though? Like, same melody, but a little more uptempo and emphasis on the beat?
But I am no musician, what would I know..  Tongue
