Hello!

My name is Keith Shepherd. I'm the founder and CEO of Imangi Studios, LLC and independent game development studios in Washington, DC. We just released our very first game titled "Imangi" for the iPhone today!  You can check it out at http://www.imangistudios.com

So a little bit about myself...

I got into gaming when I was about 5 yrs old.  Our first computer was an Apple II+ (Now that really dates me huh...)  I started playing games like load runner, might and magic, zork, infidel, Oregon trail, and a whole slew of others that I can't even remember the names of.  They were all great.  I was fascinated by this new machine and everything that it was capable of.  It was at that age I decided that I really wanted to know how people made these games so that I could make games too.

We had a friend visit us from germany.  He knew a ton about computers and had actually written his own Chess game for the Apple II+.   He was kind enough to create a disk for me some sample code and a basic compiler.  This was my introduction to games and programming.  I tried to learn as much as I could about basic, but didn't get much farther than writing simple programs that displayed the same word infinitely:

KEITH
KEITH
KEITH
KEITH
...

It wasn't until middle school that I really started to learn to program.  I picked up a the Future Basic compiler for the mac and starting learning programming from some of the great books they supplied with the language.  I made mostly simple text adventure games and also wrote a frogger clone.  From here I learned pascal in high school, but it wasn't until college when I learned to program in C/ C++ and ultimately Java.

I've always loved games.  Playing games, reading about games, trying to build games.   My favorite games of all time are:

The Secret of Monkey Island
Might and Magic
Bolo
Trade Wars 2002
Super Mario Brothers 3
Mario Kart Wii

In addition to computers, I love sailing, photography, and art.

Imangi is my first ever game that I've actually released.  I'm really excited about the iPhone as a platform for independent game developers.  I'm so excited that I've quit my full time job and started Imangi Studios, LLC.  My goal is to grow a small business around making games for the iPhone and other mobile playforms.  I'd love to hear any feedback about Imangi.

I attached a screenshots for you to enjoy.  There are more on the website if you are interested.

Cheers!

-Keith
