Oh man, I've always liked having to risk your life in games for payout. A no varia suit run in Super Metroid is all kinds of fun around Norfair. When you run through an area and finally reach the room with 4 health left, it's so rewarding. Yes, I had just the same (Metroid and especially Norfair) in my head when I posted that. Sadly, Super Metroid doesn't require that in any point. :<

How about a game that wants you to download and install 100 megabytes of the latest fancy library from microsoft before you can play it?
Game that requires registering an account with email verification every time you play? EDIT: And send spam to the email address you give. :D

thanks for the info guys.
now i just need to make a couple more plants and I should be good to go. any ideas for plants would be appreciated I have the mushroom now and I am working on a bridge vine right now. Im also thinking like a venus fly trap thing that eats you and then spits you out.
do you guys like the idea of growing all flowers to complete a level, or should you need to find a goal, and the flowers are jsut a bonus thing to see if you can get 100%. originally it was going to be goal based. but I am thinking the puzzle elements of getting all the flowers is looking nicer.
salt: i noticed the mushroom after I played it I guess I will have to make it a little bit taller.
I prefer flowering being the goal.

Made a decorative rock as addon for one of my old projects: It doesn't do anything, but prettify the landscape ... and causing additional costs if the player wants to build something there. Quite small pic, but sure looks cool. Game Noir

Yeah, I hate that shit. Aeris's death was supposed to be all like "ohh no we lost a sweet character, now I'm all emotional :`((" But since the standard RPG gameplay suggests that death is a joke unless all 3 of your party members die, it's not very significant.
The easy way to solve this would have been to kill off 3 members of your party all at once. Now that would have really been a surprise. Hehe, yeah, that would've been quite a shock I guess. Jesse's games have all pretty cool ways of handling death. I've been thinking too about that 'die once, can't play the game anymore' concept, but if that concept was used, the game couldn't be Spelunky, it would have to be a bit more forgiving. One thing I found cool when playing some less forgiving games, especially some old Metroidvanias, was that there were cases where you had to be brave and get through a very hard place in order to get to it place you had to go. There aren't many examples of this, but it has it's very own feeling when you have to mostly just avoid everything, and after this sort of a hell, you get your reward as new plot twists, or maybe a new item, or maybe just getting to an easier place.

The concentric squares on the blocks, block variation, selective grass, flat swirly clouds, and a few other things all seem to be heavily inspired by Fez. To be fair I think it's the way in which the style is used, I don't believe the swirly style ever belonged to Fez in the first place. YES. Otherwise looks great.

basically is the art I have now good? and would redoing it all be a waste of my time.
There are actually people who like good art, they say it's sweet. And there are also people who adore horrible art, they say it's style. Keep on pixelating that stuff, it's sweet! YES! But, but, you could add some grass growing out from the tile. Otherwise looks sweet.
