I thought Allegro was a library, not a language itself. Unless I'm missing something, here. It was written in C, although it works well with many other languages.
I recommend learning C++, since it's basically an industry standard. Beyond that, it has features just about every other programming language has, so it makes it easier to adapt to other languages.
As for a graphics library, I recommend making friends with OpenGL. It's cross platform, unlike DirectX. If you have a job working with DirectX you can adapt, they don't work all that differently. But if not, you're already set. Most jobs for game programming are in OpenGL, I'd say, when you consider only Windows and the Xbox use DirectX.
I recommend just reading online tutorials and documentation. To my experience they've usually been a lot better.

All I can say is: Why not? If you're a smart little programmer you'll make the option to not draw with the alias available when calling the script/function.

Yes, it is! I've been gearing up crazy to learn how to properly do my anatomy, kinnas helped out loads with that. @ R. D. Ein They go down to the lowest point of his crotch, any longer and he'd have quite an awkwardly positioned time!

@ ArchMonitor Thanks for the suggestions and praise! I kind of had it in the back of my head that the arms were about 1 px shorter than they should have been, but really didn't do anything about it.(until you suggested)(I'd like to mention that it looks like you make your arms a bit too long, judging by your avatar.) ANYWAY~! 私は完全な--!! I'm finished! I went back and completely cleaned it up, removed all shading entirely, and redid it. The color specs are now a max 3 shades per hue, and it's just much cleaner in general. I made the kilt-y-part(for the lack of the proper term) cape angle inwards rather than outwards, to give it a much more stylized and sharp appearance. The arm gesture is rather uncomfortable to be an idle pose, but I'm content with it as a base frame so that I can work further. Give me some final feedback if you have any suggestions or critiques, I'm always up for it!

Head is tiny? Really? First time I've ever gotten that one. I messed around with outlines a bit. I think they might be a bit too soft for the style I want.(@middle sprite with no black outlines)

Starting to do some real pixel work for a real game now, instead of just messing around. Before I go in and start animating a thousand and one attacks, can I get some heavy critiques on what I have? If you remember any of my works, this character design might seem familiar. My goal with this was to combine the anime/manga style of Jump Ultimate Stars with my own, to create a kind of sleek and flexible style.(I'm not sure how well this is working out)

it's minimalistic yet deep and intuitive gameplay.
we must have played a different game. this thing is yawn inducing. it is interesting, but its certainly not deep or intuitive I was speaking up a bit, but it is to an extent. There's quite a lot of strategy and technique behind the game if you really sit down and play it.

Personally, I love it. The minimalistic graphics are right up my alley, and I love them. In that respect, it's highly stylized to compliment it's minimalistic yet deep and intuitive gameplay. I wish I could figure out how to do hot-seat two player(if possible), it'd also be nice to create your own orb fields.

Guxt.
There's Ikachan, which is basically a spiritual prequel to Cave Story. Play it, it's on the same site.(Although I recommend getting the english versions from other sources)

Maybe you could refer it like so: "CPTSUCCESSOR.BAT IS RESTRICTED TO PRIVATE ACCESS CREWMEMBERS" "Supporters get access to all private web terminal data." Etc.

iz diz cav stroy 2??!!!! On a more serious note, I had no idea what to do in this game, probably due to my lack of Japanese (and the fact that the text was displayed as a bunch of "?"s). I hope someone translates this. Fast. When it opens up, a dialog box prompting for a character input will appear. This is your profile name. Put in your desired name, and press whatever button is there to proceed. From there you'll go to a profile select window. Click the mid-right button and a small dialog with your name should appear over the profile select window. It will either promptly close, or there will be a button to press to close it, I can't remember. I don't know if the step was necessary, anywho. If the game doesn't start on it's own after that, then click the bottom right button on the profile select window. From there, text plays little part. You'll see yourself against another orb, and the goal is to shoot each other 5 times. First to 5 wins. You use the drag-bar to adjust your firing angle. That would be it!

Personally, I like equipment that do things that help me besides raising numerical stats.
Iron boots, great example.

I'm happy with this new logo, though I think the highlights on the cog may be a bit too intense for it's own good. I don't remember the original benig like that.

@Cheater - Wooo, Ubuntu!
Ever since I installed Windows 7, I've been unable to access Ubuntu. Damn you, Microsoft! I need to look into this, soon.
