Very awesome, congrats on getting this together for DSIware! I hope it works out well for you!

I think this is a great idea! Smiley

I'd love to see a game with maps generated from ascii (that can be adjusted), ascii text, and placeholder images. I can imagine from pretty creative remixes of a game, even if they have the same criteria (find the object on the map, for example).

Obviously changing engine casually isn't a good idea, especially if you're midway through a project.  Duke Nukem Forever seemed to change engine every couple of years!

Whoo, I hit 25k!  24th in the scoreboard! Smiley I love this game, and I'm really fond of the mono graphic aesthetic.

Boinga in my pants!

Going to try it out now! :D

Unity3D is now available for free!

www.unity3d.com

The Unity Indie license was previously $200, but now it is available for free. It's just had an update to version 2.6, adding a lot of new features.  The Unity Pro license is still the same price.

I have a venue I'd like to use in Cambridge, but I already explained that December is a difficult month.  I'm considering booking the place in January just in case nothing else works out.

I'd prefer to keep this around London if possible too.

Whoo!! Tigcastic!
Great work Dragonmaw!

Watch out tiggers, we're coming in your ears!

Oh, well it would probably be best if it ignored additional scores from the same person.

Whoo, congratulations on bringing this together!! I need to find a windows machine and get in on this action! :D

edit: I played it this morning, I love it! I've played a few games like this before so I'm familiar with the 'genre' but I think you did a great job of it. The music is cool too, and you really nailed the aesthetic.

It would be nice if the high score boards grouped scores with unique named (or unique machine IDs) so that more people could get into the top ten.

Did you guys record another tigcast on Saturday?

I dunno, I think I would prefer it if people said they didn't feel like buying your game, or indeed buying a game period.

Glad to hear you're doing well! Smiley Has the game been reviewed much?
335  Community / Townhall / Re: Hook Champ - iPhone game out now! on: October 20, 2009, 10:47:23 AM
I picked this up independently of this thread. Cool to see that I'm accidentally supporting some tiggers!  I find it pretty awesome, but a little tricky to control. I'll get used to it though, I need to play some more!

Nothing hurts more than being told that someone 'can't afford' 99c for your game. Smiley

EPIC trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sf06P-_1lkU

I couldn't find a thread for this, so I figured I would do the honours. VVVVVV is Terry Cavanagh's latest game, an epic platform game all about flipping gravity. The game is huge, with 200+ rooms, and will be sold as shareware sometime within the next few months.

Terry is selling this game as Shareware, which is a first for him. You can 'pre-order' the game in the form of a donation here:

Any news on Tigcast #1, dragonmaw?

Nice sense of scale in the graphical version. I also like the way you've handled line of sight in this. Smiley Good stuff!
339  Player / Games / Re: Roguetemple's International Roguelike Database updated on: October 16, 2009, 12:41:07 AM
This is great, if not a little intimidating! :D  It's really useful to be able to search by platform, or sort by update. Nice work!

I think there's a point where you're sheltering the child a bit much. they probably hear 'stupid' on school all day anyway.
Sure, I'm just letting him make an informed decision.
