Are there any tutorials or articles that you recommend with regards to making corridor based mazes? Also, what is the best way to solve a maze? Should I use something like Astar (which I know nothing about, and fear might be too complex for me) or should I just brute force the solution trying every possibility?

Sorry chaps, I was being overly sensitive to the responses on this thread. I have already bought the full version of Audio Hijack Pro for $32, which should suffice for a mixed stream. Can I ask for the podcast to be recorded one hour earlier? I'm up for doing it on Saturday.

Hey, don't use free/crappy software if you guys are serious about it. How much does decent recording software cost?
I really wish I hadn't shared that broken podcast file. The podcast wasn't going to happen at all, I had 20 minutes to gather software, and I made a mistake because the software added noise to the recording. It's not like I'm unaware that this is very poor. I've made a lot of podcasts before. The audacity channel recording is wisest, but it is still importart to record a mixed stream of the skype session as a backup - just in case one person has difficulty with their file or their computer sets of fire, etc.

Universities are perfect during the summer, and you can even rent out the dorms for beds, but during the winter it might be harder. Worth asking though.

Would I be right in thinking this event doesn't actually have an organiser? Yes, this is right. The Londoners don't seem to be responding. I might start to look into something in Cambridge for January as a fallback.

If one person is hosting, and one person is due to speak at a time then it should be much easier to keep it in control. If you interrupt someone during their segment you know that they have priority over you. I'll update Skype, sorry about that! XD IM during it would help a lot, especially if you can say 'me!' on there if you especially want to speak for a moment. Like Malec says, there's no way to control this entirely, and there is always going to be banter to some extent. I think we started to get used to it over the course of the podcast though. This one was always going to be pretty chaotic, as most of us don't have experience with skype podcasting before now, so this was something of a trial run. People should check their equipment and charge their batteries (or run off mains ideally) next time too Many of us ran into technical difficulties, myself included!

I'm still not quite eligible for the secret 30+ forum! I hear it's awesome over there! I took up the offer for the $3.00 Immortal Defence! Whoo! Thanks Rinkuhero, I look forward to giving it a try sometime.

Boris, go scout! Pleeease! I expect there to be about 30 people, and we don't mind paying if the venue is good. Internet is preferable but optional. Desks or tables would be good.

Yes, I could totally live without internet too.
Is anyone looking for places in London? I could look for some more places in Cambridge.

I would very much like to be part of the podcast. I should be available every time. I'll even call in during Eurogamer Expo, which should be good for some immediate impressions.

I've been part of a podcast for a while over in my comic-drawing group. One method we found worked well was to invite people to record a monologue on a topic, often in reply to some existing questions, and submit it to the podcast producer and have them slotted into the episode.

No More Sweden 1 worked fine sans internet. That's because swedes are magical. The rest of us need internets. Actually, No More Sweden 1 had everyone sleeping there too right? That would be ideal, I agree with that, but I can't imagine any locations available like that in December. During the summer you can rent student dorms and do that sort of thing, but not during winter.

Internet shouldn't be top priority, it's good, but not necessary. Internet is actually really important. Lots of peoples programming docs are online, and in general internet helps people work more comfortably.

Here's an obvious question - what tutorials do people recommend for getting started?
I come from seven years 3DS MAX experience, but I find Blender's interface to be pretty fruity. Are there any tutorials specifically for low poly modelling and UV editing? That's 90% of what I'll be wanting it for.

Why push back the date because of one place in Cambridge? I'm pretty sure we'll be able to find something decent in London at the beginning of December, as it is the choice that is most convenient for most people. It wasn't so much because of the one place in Cambridge, but rather their insistence that places like that would all be booked with Christmas things. Absolutely something in London would be ideal if someone can locate somewhere good.
