I love those designs that emphasize lower body strength and mobility.

Definitely. The build of the female in Monster Hunter fits the bill, as well:

And on that subject, Monster Hunter in general has awesome armor designs. Agnaktor is one of my favorites:

SCV is not his finest moment though. He used to be hot.

I know it's an out of game render, but still... let us weep for the lost hotness.

Don't forget that he's, like, 20 years older in V (Almost 50!)

Still working on the first area of the overworld, Gran Forest.

And here's the entrance to Gran Hollow:

Flannel? That's so indie.

I think you would do well to have a read of this:

Because, my god, it's awesome. It's about ways to have the NPC's direct the character or make the world feel lively.

Looks cool, man. But, i find the face really funny, like saying: "My running is serious business". Epic Cheesy

Lovin' that, Nihil.

~~EDIT~~

Now with 100% more decent cliffs and not forgetting to set a toon ramp for props.
(But still 0% less haphazard plant placement)

Thanks guys.

How about a tiny windmill?

I don't always try to paint environments... But when I do, I get bored halfway through and stop.

Is that Alucard if he were an armour-ninja?

The chunkiness makes it look like one o' dem show dogs with the really thick fur on the legs.

Meanwhile:

Swag, eh?

I think you're right about the need for more clarity on the characters. As I said, I'll be having that shader made, so I'll see what can be done about that.

And then there was Celeste:

Those guys are pretty awesome, Jackson. I like all of the details you've painted in, although I think they need more contrast in a few areas that blend together, like the Elk's torso and cape.

Thank'eh, Stib.

Van's been enhanced:

And I've been messing with a painterly overlay, and replacing the abstract environment textures with painted ones:

I still need to redo the environments and the sky.

The impact in the last one looks really nice, Moonlight.

It's amazing what some mottled lighting will do for a forest scene:
