Over animated? I love the animations in Metal Slug. They are part of the reason that game has so much style. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference, but I love gratuitous frames of animation. They're beautiful.
But definitely not something you want to try if you are just starting out, or actually want to finish your sprite.

Those rules are kinda.. I dunno. How can they tell if you really worked on a unfinished game? Someone could just submit a game they have actually been working on and win the compo with an entry that they actually finished or intended to finish all along, all while disguising it as abandonware.

Check the comments page on that video. He gives more information about his deportation case. The name he mentions is a real name of an actual judge if you Google it. All the details match up perfectly. 'you're going to prison?!?' Yes, the judge on the case is Isabel Bronzina - very tough judge, who denies almost all the asylums (as I could see in the statistics on the internet). And the court session seems to be closed to public - last time there were only a couple of US government representatives, judge and me. http://www.google.com/search?q=Isabel+BronzinaYeah, I seriously doubt this guy a joke now. Sadly and bizarrely enough, this guy may actually be for real. As they say, sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

I doubt it. I used to think the same thing, until I did a Google search on the guy and his email address. I remember seeing posts where he tried to hire people for his new amazing game which he thought would change everything. In fact, he actually did manage to hire some voice over work for Quite Soulless and I recall posts where people actually spoke to the guy and he was just as crazy.
Also if you run a whois search on quitesoulless.com, the information leads to an actual guy from Russia. It's all too consistent to just be a joke.

Also for those not familiar with Super Robot Wars, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Robot_WarsBasically it's a series of turn based strategy RPGs (very popular in Japan) much like Advance Wars or Fire Emblem except with licensed anime robots from Gundam, Evangelion, etc. made by a company called Banpresto, which is a subsidiarity of Namco/Bandai. There's SRW games for pretty much every console ever made. Not sure what the rules on this forum are regarding fan games, but if I'm not mistaken.. isn't this the wrong section of the forum for this post?

The only reason anyone would have to know that many anime series is if you were making a Super Robot Wars clone.
Is that what you're making? Also, "turn based strategy RPG" definitely sounds like I'm not too far off considering thats what SRW is.
EDIT: Looks like I was right! I checked the page and sure enough, the project listed is "Super Robot Wars Eternity," a SRW fan game.

The leveling system could start you off with the basics then as you get into later levels, you learn more advanced typing skills, which allow you to do better more powerful attacks.
Either that, OR the enemies you encounter could influence what kinds of exercises you do. Enemies from the beginning of the game would be something like the home row while later enemies would be harder and harder techniques. Boss battles would be entire reviews or tests of the section.

Oh god, this guy is hilarious. Just that portion that you quoted alone had me in stitches. Glad to see that this guy is still going and is as nutty as ever.
As for the game itself, it looks.. quite unremarkable and not as appealing as his last game. Which is a shame considering how bizarre and hilarious Quite Soulless was. Nice giant floating "afroamerican roommate" head and torso though.

People can still be infected by external avatars. A while back this page was marked as unsafe by various anti virus programs and Google just because of a file host someone used for their avatar.
