The Demake, the Cockpit, the Commonplace Book ... these compos are one of my best memories as a hobby gamedev :')
I was expecting a new compo to take place here and I'm so glad it happens again :D

As for the theme, "Sport Games" are definitely the genre I disregard totally.
This is a superb occasion, then, to try & make a sport game I can enjoy myself.

A Toast Right to Derek!

Hi again.

I created a Facebook page for Astrolander, so that people can support the project by 'liking' it, sharing & posting stuff. The usual FB business, you know  Embarrassed

Hi folks,

Though this project was abandonned (almost), I wanted to let you know that I'm trying to fix a working build so that people can eventually test it in its current state.

'should be done in a few days.  Embarrassed

'Hehe
Got it yesterday on my phone.
I simply adore the audio work of this game, not to mention the gameplay itself :p

God, I love these vintage pictures. Excellent work, astrofra.

Hehe. I bought a loads of 60's color slides (and 30's b&w stereo glass plates) at the flea market. It is, indeed, vintage stuff Smiley

I love this pattern-based rendition. It's full of poetry.

Thanks Smiley
I'm rather happy with the gameplay feeling.
The level design is a bit messy in my opinion, not really consistent, but this is my first real level design experience (the prev. one was an unfinished isometric exploration game).
Furthermore, my next big improvement on AstroLander will be to implement a level editor & an online platform for the players to share their creations.

In the meantime, here's the iOS-ised version of the app icon :

Ha, thanks for your feedback, both of you.
Actually, u're right, the background should be more red-ish, in order to contrast with the blue spaceship.

I'm reworking it, anyway, as I just found out that the icon above does not match the Apple iOS guidelines Smiley

Haha,
yes,

your remarks still are in my todolist :

<Udderdude> it's neat .. enter should skip the end level screen
<Udderdude> narrow corridor full of damaging cogs isn't very interesting to me

Hi
I've made a quick test on Android because I didn't have much time... but I'll play more later.
I wanted to give you feedback on a couple of things... maybe you already have some or all of these on your to-do list...
Thanks a billion for your time Smiley It's great to have a feedback from an Android user.

- The first it's about the controls. I like the feeling and responsiveness (I tried on a Galaxy S2), but one place where the game didn't responded as I expected was when I was pressing both buttons and released one of them. I felt the one button that was steel pressed should keep thrusting.

Yup, I noticed this one. It seems to be related to the low level of the engine I'm using. It's cool to have your description here because I couldn't find the exact path that led to this situation.

- There's no way to quit the app?

Indeed, it's coded but not working yet for some reasons :s

Quote
- I pressed the Home button and saw the app was still running (I think if there's another way to quit this wouldn't be a problem), and when I returned (I was on the game main screen) and went to "OPTIONS", the screen looked like this:

if I do: BACK > OPTIONS it's stilll broken.
if I do: BACK > LEADERS > BACK > OPTIONS it's fixed

Typically, this is a "GL Context Loss", specific to Android. I have to deal with it on every texture of the game, and there are still pieces of the game where it doesn't work Smiley

- It would be good if the phone's BACK button worked besides the APP back button.
- Some minor graphical tip: the locked levels could have the locks shown on the button directly

Nice idea about the 'start' button, I'm going to change this as you suggested.

Hope some of this helps!

Oh yes, it helps Smiley
Thanks!
